So I just watched the first episode and I was intrigued by all the foreshadowing in the OP so I searched a bit, as of now there are 8 volumes, anime season 1 of LH covered Vol.1-5. Baka Tsuki has only translated 1-7 since volume 8 was just released on Sept. 24, Volume 9 has an unknown publishing date but the story is is about Kanami, because of that and basing on the OP, I think the anime will catch up on volume 9 after its been published simply because this anime has a span of 2 seasons(fall and winter) meaning 6 months run and enough time to publish Volume 9. Since the first episode just rearranged some scenes from the novel Snow Hut Meeting with the Kunie Clan is from volume 7 so the order of the volumes might be merged..... Anyways, lots of things happen in volume 6 and 7 while 8 also adds more info about the Myth Arc (THAT'S NO SIMPLE MOON!) while Volume 9 is all about Kanami. ( I think its the published version of the Web Novel Featuring Kanami. )

I'm starting to notice that although there are still in game mechanics elder tales is starting to become the actual world. In the last episode the players found out that the distance between places r slowely increasing becoming like the real world or at least making all non in game mechanics that of the real world

Who knows anyway? As far as we know this is just an AI based off Shiroe like Helba from .hack would do. How do we know they even are the real people in the first place? We never see the outside world and if they really were sucked in as far as I can tell there's nobody holding them hostage like in SoA. The side manga says that the whole thing is caused by sentient super viruses but why? In fact why does anyone care at all? Its a change of pace from all the other .hack copies in that there are no corrupt corporations, crazy ass hackers, eco terrorists, rampant evil AI's, AI's turned evil and rampant by the above mentioned corporation to scam the masses into buying their crap, or any of other doom and gloom crap of the genre.

im really curious about what shiroe said in the end of ep 1 "I Died as well" or some thing like that. so my theory is that all of the people trapped in elder tale where people who already passed away in the real world with their lifeless body in a pod or something but their conscious minds lives in elder tale.
