This video contains course language. Viewer discretion is advised.
Employers, supervisors, equipment operators, and truck drivers-everyone is responsible for ensuring that forestry workers get home safely. Unsafe practices like failure to properly supervise work, bad planning, errors of judgment, poor communication, and pressure to clear landings quickly can result in workers being injured or killed.
This video shows what can happen if safe work procedures are not followed when loading logs in a landing area. The unsafe practices shown here represent learning opportunities that can be part of a post-viewing discussion.
This video portrays a fictional workplace. It does not represent the forest industry as a whole or the individuals or companies involved in the production.

Very well done! It just goes to show that no matter how long you been working for shit can happen and even though re employer is suppost to be in charge of operations and safety, if the employee feels like it's unsafe or whatever the case might be... Don't be afraid to report it and/or refuse to work under those conditions, we as employees have the right to go home at the end if the day in one piece.

Driver should have made radio contact to the shovel operator before getting out.

LOL the only thing wrong with the ending is that if it was real life, the truck driver would have punched out the operator.

If you cannot maintain cool, calm self-control at all times you are a shit supervisor. If you cannot master your stress you are a shit supervisor and a weak person. If your greed trumps safety you should not work in an industrial environment. If you work for anyone who has the above traits, do the safe thing so you live another day.

Work safe now condones/promotes foul/profane language!? I'am offended to my core! This is a slap in the face to my religous and Canadian values! It's a slap in the face to all us forest proffessionals!! In 25years of working in the BC Logging and Forestry industries, I have never heard such offensive language on the job! How dare you Work Safe BC. You haven't heard the last of me!!! I will be back after I finish watching "Natural Born Killers"!!!
