@douglascasey3486

It appears that all that has to be done is replace the wheel with a sprocket, and bolt the track assembly to the existing planetary housing. It looks like it makes for a much smoother ride over stumps and things than tires. I still use these same 648 H's. The Tiger Cats use the same rear ends as the John Deeres. John Deere builds them for Tiger Cat.

I belive they do offer ultra-LGP models. (ultra low ground pressure) aka wide tracks for swamp logging. I'd absolutely hate to be one of the guys that had to fix a thrown r busted track though!!! Lololol. Could you imagine? Omg you'd be dragging it back out to the landing for sure. Then you'll need an excavator and a crane to fix it

Use this skidder to pull wood up steep hills or through wet area's up to where a wheel skidder can take it to the landing. I've been stuck on steep slopes with a rubber tire skidder but with these tracks I could pull wood up steep wet ground with ease.

Kevin Allen It is an incredibly good ride. Undulating road surface, rocks up to, shoot, a basketball? like size? Yep. 20 to 25 mph over level terrain. On better roads, the rubbered up fellas can outrun me. But, the FMC’s are “king of the hills”. Grades as steep as 60degrees are easily climbed. My machine carries just under 1000 gallons. The water bottle’s air pocket near the cap, does not touch the cap while climbing that steep. The steeper the terrain, the getter an FMC looks. Well, you know, unless I’m running the FMC! Then, even, Dale Earnhardt would rather concede than take likkin like that! 😝 🤩🤫🤑💪☠️

well its not for riding better its all for Alleviating Ground Pressure so the machine will run on top ofthe ground instead of making BUTTHOLE DEEP RUTS as a rubber tire is famous for,also as previously stated the tracks willing maximize TRACTION, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DRIVE IT ON THE DEBRI AND THE LIMBS AND TOPS THAT ARE LEFT BEHIND.

northman logging yep, those that cant figure out an FMC, usually, have nothing but negative to say. I can build the road that would bring your machine to work, I can retrieve timber that you would have to watch a helicopter recover, I can climb a grade so steep that an Ibex might vomit from inclination, and i can run 20 to 25 mph down the road, up the hill and across the meadows(with less damage in my mirror than you, even if your parked). But, i get it, sometimes lack of talent is cause for insult. But, thats 👍 ok, we both know who can be relied upon to pick up the mess left behind by the ignorant. C U on da’ mountain. 😆

As a Forest Harvester Operator I will never understand the use of Skidders in thinning jobs. They destroy all the new growth and make the thinning useless. Might as well just clear cut everywhere a skidder is used. Harvester heads and forwarders would be so much more efficient. Sure some places might want full length trees but you would have so much more timber to work with if you didn't destroy all the new growth. Granted this is coming from someone who has been working in a country that actually tries to preserve it's forests.
