Once I saw it I couldn’t unsee it. He does not take responsibility at any point and then makes her feel crazy for being upset. A normal person would have said “yeah I’d like to hang out but I have friends over playing poker. Would you like to join?” Duh! A reasonable person would have at least acknowledged how hard it must have been for her to find out he slept with his sister’s friends. Even if he is determined to stick to his story of “I thought we were broken up” at least acknowledge how awful she must feel in that moment because of something HE did.

I hated Logan and who Rory became with him.

This is why I'll never understand Team Logan: He's dishonest, a gaslighter and manipulator, and above all, he's spoiled and not as smart as Rory. Plus: He's classist as hell. You can see that from how he treats Marty, Jess, Luke, and some other ppl. He often talks to these ppl as if he stood on a pedestal, with his chin up and looking downwards.

Okay but in Logan’s defense, if I came home early to surprise my girlfriend and I see/find out that she’s hanging out with and going to dinner with her EX BF, then yeah I’ll be pissed and a little suspicious too. I’m not saying how he acted at the dinner was right but Rory knew what she was doing and doesn’t see how she was in the wrong, regardless of them being friends. If you are in a serious and exclusive relationship with someone, it’s common sense you don’t hang out with your ex!

If I hadn’t heard from someone in two weeks after a fight over an ex, I’d assume we were done too. Especially if they hadn’t communicated they wanted space and it was agreed on. Rory didn’t handle that fight very well either. She would have been jealous if Logan was going to dinner with an ex.

I dont think a lot of these scenes are gaslighting and manipulation, just immaturity on Logans part which he mostly grows out of (and rory flat out not communicating properly)

Screne 1: i mostly give him a pass, but it woulve been nice to have the foresight that not everybody likes poker. Not sort of force someone into an activity they didn't agree to. Give her the chance to decide, bring money if necessary. Typically you prepare someone for something like that. Scene 2: is obvious what the problem is. I can date, but you can't. Although it does come across to me like this is what she was hoping for all along. Scene 3: she clearly wants to break things off and he accuses her of being manipulative. We all know manipulators project. Scene 4: again pretty obvious. We even skipped over the part where hes actually being a jerk to a stranger. If he feels like Rory is doing something wrong then he should confront Rory, not Jess. Lets not forget he loves shitting on singers too. He's also heavily criticizing a profession he knows Rory is after which is low key minimzing her own ambitions. Then he keeps advisoring her to have a drink and gets defensive 2 seconds later about how he doesnt force her to drink. For those that think his position is hard - yes it is. All three of them where in difficult situations. Rory wasn't expecting Jess to show up. And Logan actually pretty much runs into them as they arrive so there's little to be suspicious of. Then there's the "again. Consult youre Hemingway" he comes across as so arrogant and insulting defending his right to shit on people. Scene 5: he says he didnt mean to break up and just told his sister that to shut her up and 2 seconds later says he did mean it as a break up, so which is it logan? Je says he cant take the fight "its too much drama" without taken into account that hes the one who stsrted the drama by inviting Jess along to dinner and insulting him the entire time. Then, he raises his voice when he gets defensive about drinking. Scene 6: he says he didn't lie but then admits lying by omission. Then he insults the girls he slept with and then says they were "companions" and "meant nothing" again, which is it? He sure doesn't show them much respect or think highly of the people he sleeps with. Which just adds to his early FWB behavior with Rory. The killer is they skipped so much stuff: Like how he initially insults Marty. He gets in a fight with Rory before getting hurt. He doesn't defend Rory to his father to which they're are a few occasions. Always try to buy her over with big public displays or covering her rent causing her to be more dependent on him. I 100% agree he's low key a gaslighter/manipulator. He may not completely aware or it but laking insight into behavior that needs changing is actually a red flag in and of itself.

I think Logan was a good boyfriend for Rory because they come from good families
