Easy, he (and his brother) started by breaking every advertising rule there was, to promote their content and to con as many people as possible (starting with the pester-power of innocent kids who were too young to understand what web of lies Logan had started). Their actions are nothing new, but other than the 'suicide forest' video, everyone else (bar NerdCity & Coffeezilla) ignored the other things that the Paul brothers were doing. Ultimately, those who knew their actions were wrong and did nothing, are just as bad

He's also demanding a jury trial which is going to be less cheap than a bench trial (assuming the case will get that far).

I just rewatched Coffeezilla's latest video on this, from a few months ago. Coffeezilla DOES acknowledge Logan's buyback-- and shows that Logan only refunded a tiny fraction of what his victims had lost. Logan is just lying about Coffeezilla here.

@@JJ11838ghcftv Reputational damage that is attributed to a very specific statement that was put out with complete disregard for the truth, meaning he has to prove Coffeezilla openly lied about Logan's involvement with crypto scams while knowing it was a lie, and that his reputational damage wasn't caused by the scams themselves. Not as easy to prove as you think, laws in the US are different from Japan and other places. You can't be punished for presenting physical evidence such as text messages and then calling someone a mean name because of them.

Any reasonable person would come to the conclusion that Logan Paul is a scammer on the basis of his own videos no less. When Logan took accountability for Cryptozoo it basically doomed his chances of winning whatsoever in court for defamation.

Journalism is threatened/dying/dead in the traditional mainstream forms. Daily newspapers, local news programs, cable news, magazines, etc. However, it’s alive in other forms: local weekly Indy papers are still putting out deep dive investigative articles. Good books are being written by journalists. Wire services are still cranking out basic news as they always have. Bellingcat. MSM outlets that mostly do crappy 24 hour news cycle stuff and showcase ranting pundits also produce some excellent long form content on TY.

AFAIK coffezilla did make a video on Logan's buy back deal for the crypto zoo victims. And it wasn't a good deal in his opion, which I agree with. People bought these NFTs for 1 ETH each and Logan only gave back 0,1 ETH. And if you take the deal you can no longer sue him for the money you lost. Also the people that bought the zoo coin (crypto currency) get nothing. Btw, he didn't even do this immediately, he did it in january 2024 and that is almost a year after the crypto zoo class action lawsuit was filed against him and the other people involved in february 2023. To me that doesn't look like somebody who "wants to make things right for the victims" and is"taking responsibility/accountability"...

Anyone that actually watched the Coffeezilla videos knows that he actually blames the other guys more than Logan but that Logan still needs to be held responsible because he didn't do a good enough job when he hired scammers to help with CryptoZoo. He also mentioned that it the amount that Logan was offering to pay back was a fraction of what was invested ... this case should be laughed out of the court room, because like Logan, it's a bloody joke

As a non lawyer, I’m wondering if Paul is doing this because he has some liabilities due to this (is someone suit him?), and this is a way to deflect that…? Normally I wouldn’t have thought so but I would thine he could afford lawyers who would educate him on defamation law.

Can Coffee afford defense if Logan drags it out? Karl Jobst constantly talks about how much money he has to spend against Billy Mitchell lawsuit because Billy's lawyers are dragging the case out to bleed him. Logan can afford extremely good lawyers to delay and postpone the trial all while punishing Coffee by making him pay defense team the entire time.

Lawsuits are expensive unless you know a guy who is willing to do it pro-bono. Logan Paul is too dumb to realize that there are lawyers who would gladly work pro-bono just to flex on him. If the Karl Jobst case was in America he would have someone who would have represented him pro-bono. That's the thing about the modern day. The people watching lolcows nowadays aren't teenagers anymore. They are adults with jobs and careers who would gladly alog someone within the terms of their job. A comcast employee shut off DSP's internet even.

He paid these lawyers to write this up but case will get dropped. Discovery will crush him with the messages organizing insider trading re: pre sale of tokens and setting timing and pricing on sales, to prevent a full dump and maximize sales. He is going after the wrong person he should be suing the guys he brought in on his scam and did not follow his guidelines and dumped before he could.

Seems crazy to sue over this. Even if you did do the right thing, your name was attached to and the focal point of the marketing of the product. You are responsible. It's not illegal to call a product that is sold and fails to be what it's promised a scam.

Yeah, he partially covered for the NFT, but not on the token where the majority of the money was made and scammed from. Edit: Coffeezilla in fact did make MULTIPLE videos on the buyback that all pretty much disprove what Logan is saying on the point of his buyback. They even started out giving Logan partial credit for doing kinda the right thing.

I'm wondering if the intention behind using comments as evidence is to suggest that, whatever the person *said*, these comments represent a reasonable interpretation of what they said. I'm not 100% against that in principle, because there are definitely occasions where someone will say something knowing that it will be interpreted a certain way by an audience primed to do so. That said... it's not going to work here, and I guarantee that Paul does not want that standard to be applied to him.
