Literally at the end of Logan I felt so much sadness for wolverine, lived over 200 years fought in several wars, sees family dies (also he killed his own father), goes back in time to rewatch his family die again, becomes the very last Xmen and died pretty badly... he was the most important mutant eve born yet his life was nothing but pain and death

I think Logan could potentially be a continuation of the original X-Men timeline, or one in and of itself. Point is, in the word of Deadpool. "These timelines are so confusing..."

i am going to disagree that any of the first three information made it down to the new timeline. Logan is the only person in the world who remembers the previous timeline. When Prof. X says "they are waiting at the statue of liberty" (which he said in a not so clear state of mind) what he is referencing was the motel which had a statue of liberty sign as its logo. Logan himself was just remembering the previous timeline, Prof X was not.

During Days of Future Past When Charles(Mcavoy)reads his mind and says "You poor man", that is when he has seen the other time line. That is why during Logan he mentions events from that timeline. His mind eaten by the degenerative brain disease is making it hard for him to differentiate between logans memories he seen and his timeline.

To those who are confused about what timeline Logan takes place in: Original Timeline: *X-Men First Class *X-Men Origins: Wolverine *X-Men *X2 *X-Men: The Last Stand *The Wolverine *The f***ed up future in Days of Future Past (where pretty much every mutant is dead) New Timeline: *X-Men First Class (the events of this movie take place in both timelines, because the 60's were never changed) *Parts of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (the parts before Logan gets adamantium) *The events in the 70's from Days of Future Past *X-Men Apocalypse *The happy future at the end of Days of Future Past *Logan (where pretty much every mutant is dead) So, no matter which timeline happens, the mutant race is nearly wiped out either way, thus confirming Hank McCoy's theory in Days of Future Past, that no matter what you do, the timeline will always re-correct it's course (his whole, throwing a rock in the river metaphor). Unknown Timeline: *Deadpool- It is unknown which timeline Deadpool takes place in, considering it's set in modern times (2015 or 2016), and the fact that Wade Wilson is about the same age that he was in Origins (which is set in the early 70's), and the fact that we have a different Colossus, it's entirely possible that Deadpool takes place in its' own timeline completely, and that the sequels and future X-Force movies will be completely separate from the X-Men timelines (there will be no more movies set in the original timeline, which I thought was obvious after Days of Future Past, but apparently a lot of people didn't get the memo, because a lot of comments are people trying to convince others that Logan is set in the original timeline, which it is in fact not.

I kinda just assumed that Logan existed in the original timeline, in a universe where they never went back in time. It kinda makes more sense to me.

If I'm not mistaken Xavier took his twin brother's body (that's why he looks exactly the same), he probably used the wheelchair because that body was laying around for a few years. Also, when Logan "went back to the future", his "young" body lost his future self's psyche, so probably lost all those extra memory, also I'm fairly sure he got his memory wiped in that timeline (too), so he wasn't as old mentally.

Just to clear things up, soldiers back in WW2 that were fighting in the European theater (which ended before the pacific) were transferred to the pacific theater after Germany surrenders, so its possible for Logan to go through D-Day and Nagasaki

People definitely went from d-day to the pacific theater. If you even just watch the mini series Band of Brothers, which follows American paratroopers who jumped into Normandy France on D-day, and eventually made their way into Germany by the end of the war and were days away from transferring to the pacific theater, even though they didn't need too, so it is possible Logan could have became a POW for a short period in Japan.

I might be wrong, but Logan didn't really get to emotionally live for those ~50 years after the events of DOFP. His consciousness just jumped from the past to the future. Or at least that's how I interpreted that. Correct me if I'm wrong, comic readers.

The time line is quite simple if one pays attention. He did miss a few more continuities errors though. Example: At the end of The Wolverine, the claws are cut off. Why are they back in Days of Future Past (being of the same time line). Also, Striker is older in X-men First Class than he is in Origins.

How did he age so much from 2023 to 2029?

Logan's memories of the initial timeline remained, even if the events themselves got rewritten... To him all those stuff between 1973 and 2023 happened and he remembers them as they happened. Then he rewrote history in Days of Future Past but his memories remained intact. Hence why he was surprised to see Jean and everyone else alive at the end of Days of Future Past.

Actually, Logan takes place in the old time line. It says that even though a new time line is created, the old one still continues. Or so it's been said before. The last Stand might be why alot of the x-men are dead, and etc. etc,

Regarding the last speculation about his cage-fighting days and the Statue of Liberty: you've solved the problem yourself. Logan had memories of those events since his consciousness has been in that timeline. It's possible that in those 6 lonely years when mutants were dying, Charles and Logan had a chat about all he had seen in the primary timeline after the near-death / death of Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels.

X Men Origins was not in the 70's, it was in the 80's. In the very first X-Men movie, Xavier mentions that Logan's memory has been gone 15 years, that would put it around 1985-1988 when he got the adamantium skeleton and lost his memory, the same time it's shown in Apocalypse. It's never made clear how long Logan and Victor were in the military prison or on Team X. As for the confusion of why Logan is in America in 1973 for DOFP, it's likely this was during his time on Team X, and he was probably on leave or something, without a mission for the time being. This also explains how he still got recruited into Weapon X despite Mystique pulling him out of the river. Since Logan was already on Team X beforehand, Stryker already knew him and probably tracked him down and brought him back. Also, it's been stated that the man whose body Xavier took over was his braindead twin brother, that's why Xavier's new body at the end of the Wolverine still is Patrick Stewart. The only things that make no sense is how Xavier's new body is still paralyzed or how Logan went from the European Theatre to the Pacific Theatre in only a little over a year

Maybe the empty Xavier's School in Deadpool was because the kids were slowly dying off by the mutant poison set by the government. I remember Colossus being concerned with Negasonic Teenage Warhead's health. The mutant poison could have had effects on kids and elderly first before grown up X-men could have felt anything. Which might explain why seven mutants was killed by Xavier due to his seizures. (Scott, Night-crawler, Jubilee, Storm, Mystic, Colossus, Quicksilver)(my guess) In anyways, what a great movie it was!!

There's also the point at the end of Days of Future Past, where Logan walks up to Professor X and has that "a lot of happened I need to catch you up on" talk right before Logan has to teach History (lol). It's not far-fetched to believe that Logan wouldn't have told Professor X about what happened in the alt-timeline (Statue of Liberty, etc.)
