I set chokers behind a rubber tire skidder for awhile at a logging operation over 40 years ago. Very dangerous. One time I came inches from certain death. I still think about that moment to this day.

She sounds good in my logging career i had two skidders with 3-53 det. a 130 and a 135 franklin my tree farmer c-4 had a British ford my 120 Franklin had a 4-234 Perkins the only machine i wouldn;t own again would be the tree farmer. Put the ear muffs when you put the throttle down !!

@@ansonnyoung343 The franklins are better on getting around on steep ground but the jacks are so easy to get on and off they are equal in my mind i would climb on either one and not wish i was on the other.

I was just looking at buying a timber jack 330 but I was concerned about weather I’d be able to find parts for it. Are you able to find parts for that thing anymore?

Parts are still available a few take a little digging but they are out there.

I don't know much about logging. Is that birch you are pulling? What is the end product?

That is poplar end product for me is firewood most logging operations around here sell it as pulp wood to the paper mills. Thanks for the question.

If you keep it in the powerband and the right gear you will spin out before you loose power. In high range you can run it out pretty easy. 👌

LOL.. pulling cables is best in thinnings... Two loads a day is good.. I used to get 3-4 loads a day in thinnings... Pulling cables and chasing bumps.
