Feels a bit like the original iPhone, a great breakthrough, but not quite the finished article. The goal, I assume, is to bring in 3rd party plugins and make this integrate seamlessly into the desktop application, or to effectively position the iPad as the vlogger/streamer’s platform of choice for content creation. That is a couple of iterations away it feels. This is really their way of seeing if the subscription model will work and of hitching early adopters to the iPad as a genuinely professional audio production tool.

I stopped using logic on desk and started using ableton but since logic pro released on ipad I been enjoying it. The fact that I’m touching it, it make me feel like im crafting it and it feels kind of inspiring. I just want more plugins or that you can upload presets from spire or serum.

Played around with it today... My five cents: For those guys who have used Logic (desktop) for a long time I think the iPad version is a bit underwhelming. I guess what everyone having a desktop setup would enjoy is doing some editing etc. on the go on their iPad but the midi and audio editing with the pencil in reality simply is not as a nice experience as shown in the promo videos and lots of keyboard shortcuts aren't available... Let's see - maybe future iterations will have improved features! Thanks again @imamusicmogul for the great intro video!

I try to download it but unfortunately not available for iPad 6th gen, I would not mind to upgrade for a bigger iPad but there is nothing with a jack that is much bigger less than one inch….

Can you still import video/movie to be able to track visuals for voice over and other sound for film? If so, does it have its own window or do you have to pull up a side view like the files app?

It’s a very promising start and a massive upgrade for current GarageBand users, but I think we’re still a couple of years away from feature parity with desktop. I’d say it’s about 30% of the way there. Hopefully this will incentivize more developers to port their plug-ins to AUv3.

What interface are you using to record the vocals on the iPad?

6:16 obvious - synth overview, touch to zoom to module / module list, pinch to zoom back out.

What about outside plugins? Like Arturia plug ins, do they work on this?

I with it had the scoring editor. It's not full logic pro x without the scoring editor.

My issue is I use so many big boy plug ins this thing would serve no purpose other than testing out drum patterns but even that I do through plugins so idk. I think producers would be much happier just getting a mpc.

Good video, just an observation, I don't understand why there is such an obsession that the keyboard works on the ipad the same as on a macbook since the ipad is made to be used with the fingers. The shortcuts should be like the one for the logic remote.

not aable to browse your own samples is a huge miss. wow.. almost unusable without it. I wonder if you can add samples to a logic folder in files. Ive never seen slideover as an option on my ipad air 4th gen, m1. Edit: just realized you cant use slide over with stage manager.

I’m also using an iPad pro but one problem I’m having is that all of my output whether my mic or midi keyboard is super low on Logic Pro unless I crank the master volume all the way up (whereas on GarageBand the keyboard sounds fine). Dunno what I’m doing wrong!

Why do many video makers these days have such a problem with knowing when to insert pauses? For example, when a new topic starts in the video, it would be normal and helpful to pause for 2 or 3 seconds (especially with the talking) so the viewer knows to switch context to something different. Instead, the pauses between different sections are often SHORTER than pauses between sentences inside a section. Maybe a little suggestion to think about!

bro 200 bucks for the computer version of Logic is nothing compared to the price of an iPad. I'd rather pay that fee again than keep paying small fees and never truly own the license. and i would even buy an iPad to have this (wouldn't for Garage Band)

I was going to buy iPad pro with Logic. The subscription for Logic has instantly turned me away. I'll stick with my desktop versions. Very disappointing...but great video anyway, do thanks.

Wow $490 to have Logic for 10 years, sounds like a bargain. Subscription models suck. I will never get Logic for iPad JUST for that reason.

Apple puts out products that JustWork* (i'll explain the little star later). JustWork* : On the Flipside it always feels like All Apple apps, operating systems are always a work in progress and very much incomplete. They always lack so much functionality. The reason for this is because they never listen to anybody ... or they only listen when their business is going downhill. Apple been soldering the SSDs onto Mac Motherboards since 2016 and also overcharging 4x the price per TeraByte. (ABOMINATION1) When your SSD will fail you , the way that Apple will go about the repair is by Replacing your WHOLE Motherboard with ALL PARTS ON IT(ABOMINATION2). Talk about a wasteful way of doing things. It will cost you 50%-70% of what you initially paid for your machine (because of the fact they chose to solder the SSD onto the motherboard). Apple is the company that decided to remove the Headphone Jack with the release of the iPhone 7 and the rest of the industry decided to follow them. When they Removed the Headphone Jack from the iphone , soon after , they released their 200-250$ airpods. (the wired ones were a humane 20-25$). Despicable. Subscription Model ??? homie please.... get a life :))) what is this ? "Own nothing and be happy" bull-crap? Apple is DEAD to me. I already ordered a Lenovo Legion Pro 5i and soon enough i'll be tossing my iPhone Xr where it belongs : In the GARBAGE.
