Logic Pro X | All the BEST Settings (and which to IGNORE)

In this video, I talk through all of the settings in Logic Pro X and explain what most of them do, which are my favorites, how I have mine set and also which settings you can ignore or leave on the defaults. I go more in depth about a handful of settings and preferences that I find most help and even show what some of them do in the context of a session. Check out the chapter markers below if you want to skip to a certain section of the preferences.

Hey mate, great video. I got a couple of things out of it. random question for you though, I'm in the process of recording a new rock track and I'm having issues with lag on my arrange window page. For instance when I use my trackpad to go up and down the page, it freezes. it takes so ling for it to register and eventually it works. I've NEVER had this issue and I've been producing for a few years. I'm not sure if there's a setting that I have accidentally changed, but I use a template for all my productions and this is no different. so it's a strange one but annoying at the same time. Would love your help if you have any ideas. Thank you in advance...bk :)

Oh man, that’s a good question 😂 First thought, is it a specific session that’s having the issue? Or any session? It’s possible there’s just something to be addressed in one session or your template. Also, I did a whole video on system overload and crashes, I’d recommend watching through that too just in case there’s a solution you haven’t tried yet. Logic Pro DISK TOO SLOW Error? Where is the setting to have the MIDI notes play if the play head is in the middle of a MIDI event/note? (for example, a long whole note, play head is at beat 2, normally no MIDI is triggered... there's a setting to change that)

That one is in the project settings File>project settings>MIDI>Chase, then check the box for “notes

Hi I have problem with my project to hear hard panned harmonies since armed track is giving me stereo (I use stereo input - channel 1 and 2 l) but sometimes I use mono track.. (my two cables from pedalboard send signal in stereo or mono but always through two cables to input 1 and 2) I know that with some options I am able to have separation but only while recording.. (empty track armed )but I need this to work while rehearsing and learning new harmonies.. I use logic with personas audiobox 96

@@WoodyardGuitar hi I have pedalboard with two cables coming out from ms50 zoom multi effect . They coming to my audio card input 1&2 and when I record mono track 1 panned left and want to practice in loop to record second track in hard panned right I don’t get separated monitoring in my headphones but rather stereo mix.. I noticed that in some settings I was able to separate but only while armed track was recording.. I don’t remember having this issue with line 6 audio card.. maybe now when I turned off surround middle channel in options this will go away.. in options there is 5.1 7.1 but no 2.0.. option I know I must be doing something wrong.. Presonus app is very poor no control over it outside of logic .. thx

hello i have a problem while edit midi note logic delet the first not of every bars region it self

If I’m following correctly, the first midi note of each region disappears/gets deleted? I’ve noticed something like that happens if the first note happens before the downbeat of the region. The solution I’ve found is to make sure the first note is quantized right on the first beat or pull the start of the region back a beat or two to make sure the start of the note is in the region.

Do you know how to make your own vocal presets i know that im jumping the gun being that im new to logic pro x 2023. Also for later do you have videos on Dolby atmos that they have inside of this software.

I know how to make presets and I’m planning to get into more mixing tutorials soon. Also I’d love to make some videos on Dolby Atmos, it’s such a cool feature. I don’t have anything currently though
