3% Deposit Bonus - Lock In High Yields Long Term:
www.silomarkets.com/launch
In early 2021, Apple decided to make the groundbreaking decision to give iOS users the option to prevent companies like Google and Facebook from collecting excess data. This was widely praised by the media as a pro-consumer move that gave society just a little bit more privacy. However, the truth is that one of the main reasons that Apple shut out all of these other companies is so that they can track you themselves. You see, iPhone unit sales have been stagnant and even declining for several years now. Apple has tried to compensate for this by increasing the price of the iPhone, but this is not a long-term solution. The best solution long term is to pivot to services and figure out how to monetize the iPhone users that already exist as opposed to trying to sell more iPhones. This is what Apple has been trying to do with Apple Music, iCloud, Apple TV, Apple Care, and dozens of other services. But, by far the most profitable service in the world is the service of ads, and it looks like Apple wants a piece of the pie. This video explains the truth about why Apple shut out external tracking and their rumored plans to introduce their own ads business.

I'm finally happy that we have a video like this calling Apple out. Everyone is so quick to call out Google for their privacy issues but treat Apple like a Saint. Apple is not only guilty monetizing their customer data but also guilty of core anti competitive practices. Apple has always been a wolf in sheep clothing and I hope they're held accountable like Google.

@bruxi78230

In the App Store a person views the ads only if they really want to. The ads are very unobtrusive. In fact many people aren't even aware that Apple has been doing advertising for years because there are no flashing lights or animations that take over the screen. Just so you understand how smartphones work, people do 100s of other things besides viewing ads, but thanks a lot for your great spin job. Anybody who buys a $150 Android and roots it and installs 3 layers of adblocking is what one would call irrelevant because the number of people willing to do it is tiny. But hey, you do you.

If they really implement all of the privacy features for the ads, I will probably still be annoyed but tolerate ads if they are not too intrusive (like in the OS itself, not just native app). I am surprised end-to-end encryption is not mentioned here. 80% of this video basically says Apple is trying to enlarge their user base of their software products by offering more economical hardwares and user control privacy mechanism, which is a fair business strategy. The rest of the video is just the typical monopoly potential concern, where faithful users have to continue to use Apple product, in order to have their software compounded ecosystem and privacy protection. The concern is valid, but as long as not everyone like to use Apple products given their higher price premium, just like some of the comments here, I think Apple still needs to implement opt-out with privacy protected ads to maintain their reputation. So far, I am actually quite happy with Apple giving users privacy choice. Surely, the ads agency gonna get a huge cut from Apple just like what Apps store does to developers. However, all these should not be a problem with continuous competition from Google and Microsoft.

I could never buy an Apple computer. Because you can't upgrade anything. Whereas computers are getting to that point anyway by not allowing you to upgrade the CPU much anymore. But with Apple, you can't even upgrade or replace the hard drive. Which I like keeping a spare hard drive with a clone of the OS around in case of a hard drive failure. Which means those Apple computers will go bad at some point as the solid state hard drives will wear out. Which will take out the whole computer instead of just the hard drive.

Apple also wants to penetrate lower income markets like India and China lower priced models helps them make them more palatable for Indian and Chinese customers where they got brands like xiaomi giving you some flagship specs for 400$ or less.

You know apple already has all our data it just doesn't share it with third parties, it is mentioned in their privacy policy. Apple collcts your ( personal ) data but doesn't sell it ( yet ) that's it. Apple can take all the ads from the companies and distribute themselves based on its relevance to user that way they don't share the data to third parties but can still show targetted ads. This restricts third parties but they have no other choice

That is the same reasoning behind Google announcing they would be eliminating third party cookies from Chrome...

I do like Apple engaging in more privacy measures. But I never believed they were doing this on behalf of the user's interests. But were doing it as a way to compete against Google since their business model is different than Google. So while I like it, I'm not necessarily going to be giving Apple high fives. Plus, Apple has been found to be lying on what they collect on you.

This will become a problem when Apple enters the metaverse (you don't want the metaverse to be a closed and walled garden).

Metaverse is a Facebook/Meta term. It is a Facebookian concept. Apple with their reality products will not be using the term nor are they interested in the concept. Facebook has spent mega-bucks on a abject failure.

(1) Your take that Apple isn't actually concerned about privacy is cynical and, I think, false; this being borne out by the design of encryption/decentralization/invisibility in all their services and such, the AirTags, and that weird child porn thing they haven't implemented yet. (2) the primary concern people have about ad tracking is aggregation across sites. People don't care if Facebook tracks your use of Facebook; they are concerned if Facebook knows of every other site you access. This would have been a useful point to add. (3) I doubt people will particularly mind targeted ads if the advertisers don't know to whom it is being sent to or why. That's infinitely preferable to Facebook analytics.

This is a waste of time. I thought there is an explicit information that Apple will pivot in terms of respecting privacy but apparently, those were all speculations, by the content creator, with no proof if these are correct.
