Can someone explain this onboard memory for me? I use cheap USB mice, and the scroll direction is set in the OS and not in mice.

@@ativerc on-board memory, as the name suggests is nothing but in-built memory within the mouse itself. It can remember the last selected settings, and does not require software interactions from a dedicated application.

@@ativerc logitech software offer customization like macro and button remapping on their hardware. without memory in the mice means that user have to depend on the software if they want any of those functions. doesn't sound that bad until you work in a company that restrict 3rd party software in their computers.

@@blazingriver6432 Nope Microsoft hardware HID products are wierdly good much better than their software. Very few Logitech products are better for ergonomic use other than this MX series.

it is an "S" series.. reminded me of Apple.. iPhone 4S, and others.. just a spec bump for the most part.. but hey, I think the MX Master 3 dropped in price.. at least on Walmart i saw for like $85 or something..

I just think that there might have been better improvements made after 3 yrs, light colors are easy to stain, the rubber under palm area got punctured easily on my mouse, there is no tactile feedback on the horizontal wheel, there is still no left-handed variant. Logitech do make cool tech but in recent years they got quite complacent in my eyes I would love to see an ergo keyboard without Numpad or an even better detachable one so i can put it on the left side, a mouse with lots of macros for productivity and other ideas but they do have overpriced models like mx craft and thats basically all.

you can change click for few backs by replacing microswitches

@@dragonwave2652 the problem is with the “replacing” part, you need soldering iron, switches, screwdrivers and some skill, not exactly convenient and it voids your warranty. Also if you’ve never done it before you’ll probably screw up your 100$ mouse.

@@Hypern0va I mean, the new version is not much vary and it is not worth to upgrade it. If you buy first time , then yes. I have mx master 3 and I don't think, I will buy 3S just because it is silent. It is not worth it

@@dragonwave2652 I don't have the mx master 3 but the mouse clicks drive me crazy enough I would almost upgrade off the regular one just to get rid of the annoying clicking all the time, I tried a cheap mouse with no clicks once and was like wow do I ever not miss the sound after the first 5 min of using it

Yeah, but how they get such great battery life is by having a low polling rate. Now, they could introduce a changeable one in settings, but I have the feeling they don't intend to.

Maybe give one of the Logitech G Lightspeed mice a go. Being gaming oriented they likely have a higher polling rate and lower latency.

I agree 100%. I have this mouse, and switching from my previous mouse with a 500hz polling rate was definitely noticeable. Not a deal breaker, but the cursor isn't as smooth or responsive as even a mid-tier wireless gaming mouse. (And for those who don't know, this mouse has a 125hz polling rate).

@@MrFluke039 you know they're saying their new keyboard is quiet tho, right? But it doesn't really matter cause if you really wanted a quiet keyboard youd build your own, jamn a lot of foam in it and use switches like the boba u4 silents.

The click is noticeably quieter. You really only hear it if the room is silent

@@Prospier competitive gamers will notice it, if you move the mouse beyond a certain speed your game wont move the camera at all, you will reach a dead stop.

My trusty G305 makes the Master 3 feel like old tech for this very reason. 125Hz just isn't enough, it's noticeably less precise and the amount of mis-clicks it causes is beyond frustrating.
