Loh Kean Yew’s switch from controlled to explosive movement in an instant is very impressive. It’s also fascinating to get insight into the different training regimes adopted by different players/countries.

He plays shots that allows him to have this time then will inject a lot of pace both with feet and speed of shot when he wants to attack and add pressure.

Power is more genetics than any training in the world could provide. Some people are just built differently, that's why he's so fast

Kean Yew was very much saying he felt most of his speed was natural and then would continue to work on it to maintain or increase his level of speed around the court.

Such an informative video highlighting the contrasting style of training compared to the UK. Interesting insight on prolonging rallies and choosing the right time to attempt a winning combination of shots. Great to see this type of video with live training and Coach commentary. 🏸👍

The danes, including their famous coach turned commentator are always preaching being more aggressive, upping the pace, taking initiative. This was even during the Lin Dan, LCW, Chen Long era where all the top players were playing passively (against equal powered opponents) a vast majority of rallies Then came Momota who absolutely washed Viktor, who was also a very passive-first player, rarely going for the attacks in back cout (all 4 more front-court aggressive, back court reset) I just feel like their coaching philosophy hasnt kept up with what the GOATs of the game were doing The Danes only won when the greatest defensive players got old, got hurt, or retired.

Thanks for talking the time to comment. Interesting point regarding the Danes, it’s very difficult for them to match some of the Asian players in the more controlled longer rallies. Victor obviously has incredible attack and hits some fantastic angles, Anders is also more aggressive in his flatter style. It’s more about making sure that you play a style that suits your game. Players will often have different natural attributes to build around. We have recently released a video with Jia Min discussing playing it styles. Link below.
