"You can't kill an entire race"- Thor Odinson Are we forgetting that at the start of the same movie Thor wanted to do the same? Kill jountons? And yet when Loki tries to do the same he is a villain? Even when he just found out a huge truth about himself? Asgardians think of jountuns as monsters. He was taught the same. It was a huge shock. And yet people think of him as the villan?

I agree. Up until spending five seconds with Jane, Thor goes from brutal killer to noble hero literally overnight; as if he's never met alien women before, but ok. Anyway, Thor says "I've changed" and that's it, he's forgiven. Like all the other Avengers, he shows remorse and a resolve to change, and that absolves him from having to do any jail time or anything. Ok, fair enough, except... Loki was _always_ the pacifist. He loses his way after learning everything he thought about himself was a lie-that he is some _other creature_ that everyone on his world, including himself, has been taught to fear and hate-and he's _immediately_ irredeemable? An _eternal prison sentence_ for shedding as much blood in two years under _extreme mental anguish_ as Thor probably shed _for fun_ in some single years? Please. Loki is obviously the scapegoat of the family. Everyone else can be as shitty as they want without consequence. Throwing Loki under the bus makes the rest of them look and feel better. And for God's sake, give him a chance to _grow._ So because Thor learned the true value of life and outgrew his former ways, Loki is supposed to develop the same way at the same time? They were about 1,000 years old by this time. Thor had _a thousand years_ to learn that murder is bad, but Loki gets _two years_ to screw up before it's "Frigga is the only reason you're still alive". Wow. Unfortunately though, I feel that most other Loki apologists wouldn't be as sympathetic towards him if he weren't so attractive. I've seen people say that all Loki needs is a hug while relentlessly condemning other characters for doing a lot less damage for arguably better reasons. I mean, characters who are tortured into legit insanity are painted all black for killing one or two people. Loki kills countless people on Earth, almost destroys a planet, nearly kills his brother and gets Frigga bitch-slapped... basically because he was bullied his whole life and his father lied to him. He deserves the sympathy, but it would be nice if we had that much compassion for other characters/real people.

@@primallove True. We should obviously not ignore all the people he's killed and all the bad things he's done, painting him as a villan when Thor is supposed to be the hero is unfair. All of these were consequences of bad parenting on Odin's part. Teaching both the brothers that Frost giants are evil when you plan on telling one of them that he *is* a Frost giant a few centuries later is a kinda bad desision. A *really* bad desision. And Thor saved the Earth. Good. But we shouldn't forget that he didn't see any problem with killing another whole planet/race. All people aren't completely black or white. We have shades of grey in the middle, we have reasons, there are consequences, and people forget this fact.
