People don't realize how fuckin impossible this song should be to play as an acoustic song. Like, he's probably doin 3 different parts which should be layered, he just jumps from one to the other with no problem. Josh has always been kinda underrated as a guitarist, he's a riffer, but he's also incredible on a technical level.

Josh Homme thinks of music in so many layers of sound that when you hear him only playing acoustic guitar, you can hear him trying to account for all the simultaneous effects he's hearing in his head, and tries to channel that through the acoustic. That's why his playing has so much swagger. It's being guided by a sound larger than just the instrument he's playing.

Really stoked to see Homme still repping some of these TCV songs, I absolutely loved this album. Couldn't ask for something better than members from three of my absolute favorite rock bands coming together to make some kick-ass tracks. Each of them has a palpable influence of the music that you can easily feel if you're a fan of their work, even though they all play different styles and come from different eras of rock. I really hope they'll make another album at some point too, seeing as... it really pains me to say this, (and, I mean, i'd love to get proven wrong!!) John Paul Jones isn't going to live forever...

I'm hoping with quarantine/so much time away from touring, TCV and some other rare side projects might mess around again finally. Josh has said somewhere before that the main thing stopping more TCV is just their schedules.

I only started listening to Queens and his other music a couple of years ago, myself. I felt like I'd robbed myself blind of all the years I could've been hearing it. Have you heard the Them Crooked Vultures album this song is off of? If not, get on that immediately. And Queens. And Desert Sessions. And anything else you may have missed.

This song is in DADGAd tuning. I think there's a tab out there in the internet that is well written, but in this video you can see all of what he is playing so I don't think it would be hard to learn it by just watching him
@kukosiMC4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I misspelled it, it is in DGDGBd. If your guitar is in standard, you have to tune down the first string a tone, and the fifth and sixth strings a tone too. Or at least that's the way I play it. Good luck!
@kukosiMC4 жыл бұрын
@@jager9022 Yeah, the last bit that goes "i'm so high...", I just do the chords. Live I think they use a drone (a note that is constantly playing) in E, so they have no problem. But for almost the whole song, they are playing an open G note in the fifth string. Here you can hear that Josh is playing the G note on the sixth string. So how you manage to play that G? with a capo? Also, in the last bit of the song, when i'm in the B# octaves, y play the E note in the 17 fret of the second string
