Personally I would have done Euston - Glasgow Glasgow-Edinburgh Edinburgh - Kings Cross and then the tube

It can actually make sense to get the Overground from Harrow & Wealdstone even if you want the Bakerloo. From H&W there are (off-peak) only 4 Bakerloo Line trains per hour, while there are 16 from Queen's Park. So if you're at H&W it makes sense to take the Overground and change at QP if the Overground comes first. So unfortunately, that bit of your journey wasn't pointless!

How about doing a pointless journey between the two Hammersmith stations, one on the District and Picadilly Lines and the other on the Hammersmith and City Line. The stations are completely separate. In order to walk from one to the other you can either go up to the surface and cross the very busy Hammersmith Broadway or use a pedestrian tunnel. There are numerous ways to go from one to the other by train. If you start from the District/Piccadilly one you can start going west to either Ealing Broadway and change to the Central or all the way up to Rayners Lane and change to the Metropolitan Line, or go east and the possibilities are almost endless!

The starting point of my commute is Kenton station on the Bakerloo Line, and the end point is Northwick Park station on the Metropolitan, the walking distance between the two is 500 yards; but to avoid walking the 500 yards between those two points, I get a southbound Bakerloo Line to Baker Street, and then a westbound Metropolitan Line to Northwick Park station 🤣

You could do a journey from Tower Hill to Tower Gateway.

I find it baffling how you can get to your destinations in so many ways! It’s definitely unique! Another great video.

It would’ve been funny if on reaching Harrow & Wealdstone you had decided to walk one mile to the Metropolitan Line station at Harrow-on-the-Hill for a connection to Euston Square .. Ironically walking much further to do that transfer than if you had simply walked to Euston Square in the first place.

Nice! Paddington Elizabeth line station to Paddington District line station next please. Only because I had to walk it last month and took a good 15 mins (flew in from the US and had a ticket Heathrow T3 to Crewe. Elizabeth line terminated at Paddington that day and had to walk to the other Paddington to get to Euston Square and on to Euston - which was faster with a suitcase to walk than from Paddington to Paddington 😂).

While not well known, would you consider doing a pointless journey from Enfield Town to Enfield Chase, in North London? It’s ordinarily a ~10m walk between the two.

You could have taken the Bakerloo to Embankment and then go via the Western part of the Circle Line, just to pass through both Edgware Road stations.

Pointless journey by bus. Route 462 on the Limes Farm Estate in Chigwell. Drives round a big loop and comes back to same spot about 5 mins later.

Going a bit further afield Tattenham Corner to Epsom Downs. You can walk it in about 20 minutes but will take you over an hour by train

I got hopelessly lost in London and accidentally did this route nearly identically to you to these two stations last week

Don't know if they've already been suggested. All have short street level walking distances. Caledonian Road & Barnsbury to Caledonian Road. Hertford North to East. South Acton to Acton Town. Arnos Grove to New Southgate. Bounds Green to Bowes Park. Both of the Harringay stations. Walthamstow Central/Queens Road.

Another idea for a useless journey is Hounslow to Hounslow Central (8 minutes by the H20 Bus, 15 minute walk) Hounslow Railway station to Richmond via the Hounslow Loop train Richmond to Turnham Green via District Line Given that I don't think most people want to do this at horrendous hours, Turnham Green to Acton Town via District Line Acton Town to Hounslow Central via Piccadilly Line. I estimate this journey (not including waiting times) will take 36 minutes, probably closer to 45 minutes with waiting for trains.

am wondering, after this series could you do journeys between stations far apart with similar names e.g. Mills Hill Mcr to Mill Hill Lancs (which I sorta managed to do :0), Swinton Mcr to Swinton Yorks or even Chester to Chester-le-Street

Hahaha I use these London Northwestern Trains fairly regularly and they often split like this… I always choose the superior one! I hate the 3 / 2 seat layout and no tables!

That's cool, but if you do it again, maybe do the Northern line via Bank from Euston to King's Cross and then change for Circle/H&C/Metropolitan and take it one stop westbound.

In the same area you can also do Great Portland street station to Regents Park station. Otherwise in London also you can do Queensway station to Bayswater station, Wood Lane station to White city station and few others also

Apparently, if the HS2 gets a connection to Euston then they will knock through a pedestrian tunnel to connect the Euston Northern-Victoria tube station to Euston Square which will then become 'Euston-Circle /Met / H&C Line Platforms'

Northern line from Euston to Kings Cross then Circle back to Euston Square, still probably quicker to walk.

This one made me laugh as Euston square IS the London underground station for Euston station and both are just a short walk apart.

If you are going to travel to London at lease use an Overground from Euston .

Love the videos. How about Lichfield Trent Valley High Level to LTV Low Level as a pointless journey if you are ever in the midlands, and/or indeed Tamworth High Level and Tamworth Low Level. A West Midlands Dayranger could make it affordable.
