I know this is an old video, but I have no sympathy at all with these people. They are breaking the rules already. As a continuous cruiser you are supposed to be on a gradual journey around the system, not moving back and forwards within the same few miles. If you work in London, as many of these people seem to do, you cannot reasonably live as a continuous cruiser. They clog and pollute the canals. Visitors cannot moor. They should be cleared out and not be allowed to return!

i'm a boater. big time. you're not doing the right thing. your squaters in boats. it's not right in your environment. you're going to live in a sewer if you don't break up this situation!

You are exactly right David. They ruin it for themselves. Just look at some of the boats. Anyone who has been around any of these free anchorages knows damn well that many boats end up literally covered with garbage! Nevermind sewage!

It’s become a nightmare to live on a boat and we are being priced of the rivers and canals. It was once idyllic but becoming a nightmare

Hmmmm......we all talk about low impact on the environment, these people are actually doing something about it. I am sure the local shops would be sad to see so many customers move. Was the area reopened?

Your not much for live n let live are you? What a wonderful way to live, be accountable and environmentally aware. Nobody owns the river or canal and it is there to be used and appreciated. There a people that want to live like the jones and people that live their lives like the butterfly. Its your right to choose for yourself but not for anyone else.

boonster666 the boats were built on barge hulls from the days of transporting goods over the canals. Basically they built cabins on top of flat barges...
