08.13.09 - Located in London, WV near Montgovery on the Kanawha River. These locks provide a maximum lift of 24 ft from lower to upper pool. They also provide a navigable channel on the river and principally serves the coal mines barges in that area. I have never seen a lock of this magnitude in my life. I was amazed and fascinated by it!
