While the church was deconsecrated in 1974, St. Mark's Church was pretty much abandoned for 20 years. The church reopened as Mercato Mayfair in 2019.

After spending 30 years on England’s Historic Heritage Risk Register, St Mark’s Grade 1-listed building is part of a two-year £5 million restoration by Grosvenor estates, successfully repairing and reviving the building’s heritage features.
