However, this is only to be activated when the government turns against their own people. But that isn't sustainable forever, he'd need a new government created.

Yet they think it's ok when they do it. The main difference is that Israel was able to develop a complex, technologically advanced, and hugely expensive and difficult to maintain system (the iron dome) to help intercept a lot of the rockets Palestinians fire at them... And without that system, the Israelis would have been obliterated by now. And it sure doesn't help Palestinian civilians that Hamas purposely uses them like human shields by deliberately hiding beneath/inside/near hospitals, schools, mosques, homes, and residential areas... I mean, it does help their cause by making it very difficult for Israel to attack their enemies without hitting civilians, thereby helping to make them look bad to the world. I'm sure this is part of Hamas' strategy, and honestly it seems to be working pretty well so far.
