The 1996 stock that serves the Jubilee Line was stuck at Waterloo Station, the train failed to go, each time the driver closed the doors.

@@SK-hv3zn I’ll always avoid something if there’s an issue. Do you remember when the Central Line got suspended at Stratford due to flooding just before the Olympics?? 6th June 2012. I was on one of the trains that got stuck. Just before the train left towards Mile End the driver said on the tannoy ‘Right apparently, there are issues on the line between Stratford and Mile End, but we’ve got a green signal so we’ll depart anyway and we’ll see how far we get to Mile End’ … it was at that point I KNEW we should have got off. But my grandad said ‘nah it’ll be fine’, then proceeded being stuck in the tunnel for 3 hours, and having to walk along the track back to Stratford 😂😂 but in a way I’m glad we stayed on, it’s an experience I’ve certainly never forgotten!!

In any other city, the passengers waiting to board would wait at the side of the door, until the exiting passengers had passed. But in London they just stand right in front of them and barge passed.

Yea its the same on the trains in glasgow i usally use queen street low lever trains and go a few stop to commute people getting on jst stand like a wall in the way and people getting off jst push but central is bad for it because of the design any trains on platform 9 onwards have to push past everyone getting off when i used to have to use trains there it was a nightmare as the air train gouork train and neilston trains would arrive jst seconds apart meaning there was something like 200 hundred people going down the hole bit while another like 100 pushed up the platforms absolute hell

i think i worked it out: driver released the brakes and started moving, but caused a loud bang to completley shut off the motors affecting it to leave. driver must of gotten an error and that beeping sound in the cab for an error.. eventually they rectified it. and the train was on its way. and went to the jubilee line depot for maintenance i would think. (hope you agree this is all i can think of)

The jubilee line is automated, the driver only controls the doors (as seen here). The block section (track section)in front needed resetting as either this train was early or something tripped it. The driver was very impatient and because the train automatically goes whenever the doors get closed, the driver didn't know what to do. It was stuck there a while because the block section can only be reset from the circuit cabinet which in most stations is at the end of the platform, partially in the tunnel.

Also, if it had moved as little as an inch then the train Wouldn't be alligned with the platform, therefore the doors wouldn't be able to open.

On that bang 4:20 I think the driver might have overshot and SPADED= Signal Passed at Danger. I am a Bakerloo Operator. But that's what I reckon otherwise could have been tripcock failure. Or driver accidently shutdown the train instead of going to Full Brake.

Jubilee line trains are always automatic when in the tunnels and I think they use moving block signals anyways, so there wouldn't be a physical tripcock

if you are a bakerloo line operator then you would know that there is no signals on the jubilee line since CBTC came in YEARS AGO. Also if the driver spadded he/she wouldnt be able to reopen the doors with the PEDS.

By shire coincidence, my aunt was on the 3rd train waiting for the train to move, and when the stuck train was gone and she got off, she told me that the driver had went on the train PA and said that the train ahead of the train Infront was stuck at the platform. Then this happened: Driver: Announcement from the driver, the train ahead of the train Infront was stuck at the platform. 2 secs later The drivers radio being heard over the PA: Ok, we got updates that the train is going to be taken to the depot shortly. Tell the passengers that the train (the train my aunt was on) had some signal failure or something like that. Driver (Speaking to TFL person): Oh, ok. Driver realising he had the PA still on the whole time: You heard that didn't you? Train starts laughing

Even when the driver takes over the train, he still needs a clear signal to move and in order to obtain one certain conditions need to be met such as doors properly closed etc... which didn't seem to be the case here.

No, it is still there now, TFL closed the entire station and bricked it up with everyone still inside.

@@UKTransport232 lol, glad you got the sarcasm 😁 when this happened to me on a Piccadilly Tube train the driver told everyone to leave the train, he got out and used a phone to call a control room and manually checked all the doors were closed and drove the train away empty, similar thing happened on a central line train, I'm presuming a similar thing happened here.
