History of architecture walking tour of the South Bank, London. Chris takes you on a tour from the Royal Festival Hall and the National Theatre to the Tate Modern and the Globe Theatre, exploring the contrasting architecture of London's South Bank and he also goes mudlarking - featuring guest appearances from: Denys Lasdun, Giles Gilbert Scott and William Shakespeare.
Walk highlights: the history of the 1951 Festival of Britain; skateboarding amongst Brutalist architecture; mudlarking finds on the shore of the River Thames; the Millennium (wobbly) Bridge; and the Anchor Pub.

Chris is a qualified architect and has lived in London for over 20 years. As well as working for a number of high-profile architectural practices in the city, he has spent over 15 years teaching the History of Architecture in London. Chris particularly enjoys giving guided tours and exploring the many layers of London's architectural history from its Roman origins to present day hi-tech architecture.
