Do you accept other payment methods besides credit cards? Paypal for example? Bit weird for a British organization to only have the credit card option since those are not that common in most of Europe.

I wanna tell you a story about my experience. Last November I had a stroke and my entire left body side coordination was out of control and everything reguarding fine and fast and precise movement were gone. After hospital I went to the keyboard and reaalized that I could not play anymore, it was like I never toutched the piano in my whole life ( I'm not a pro, I just play some gigs sometimes for fun, but still very important to me). Tha day before you can play Chopin, the next day you are less then a biginner. So I had to restart from zero, with the super basic exercise I was doing when I was a kid, play for the first time. No muscole memory, no coordination between the fingers on the keys, no coordination on the distance between the keys. After practising many hours every day I was slowly reboulding the mouvement. When I was building a good and solid structure on my movement I could move slowly to groove, but I realized that the groove was always there, hidden among the simplest exercises while I was rebuilding the coordination of my fingers at 46 bpm, imprinting the movement in the memory of my brain, accustoming it to a regular cadence. Time is the key. Getting your brain used to coordinating within a rhythm. Very slowly increasing the speed. After six weeks I went back to playing in a pub, it was an immense joy. Groove, for me, is where you find the combination of rhythm and expressiveness, it's like a dance, we always have to move like we are dancing. With groove.

A really important lesson. IMO rhythm is the most important part of music. It's so important for beginners to incorporate rhythm into their playing very early on. It sounds more exciting, it's more exciting - and therefore motivating - to play and just makes everything sound better. A really basic improv can sound massively better with just a little rhythm. Hope you do more vids like this, Tom. :)
@contemporaryschoolofpiano

You're absolutely right! Rhythm is indeed a fundamental component of music and is crucial to the overall feel and structure of any piece. Integrating rhythm into practice from early stages helps set a strong foundation for further learning and development. Moreover, you make an excellent point about the excitement factor. When beginners are able to incorporate rhythm and create music that's lively and engaging, it not only sounds better but also increases their motivation to continue learning. Thank you for emphasizing this essential aspect of music learning and for your insightful comment. It's this type of dialogue that enriches our learning community. Keep up the good work, and happy playing!

Tom, another great video!! I started out playing guitar back in the 70's and often spent hours just cranking my amp and playing with a drummer friend of mine and we would just get lost inventing grooves, just feeling our way through endless variations of blues, rock music. The one thing that we didn't have was the grooves written out like you did in this tutorial. You stated that at one point in the video, that you have written them out. That has been the missing link for me all these years. I can feel it, but can't read or write it necessarily. I am working on those skills now as I'm learning the piano and I thank you so much for addressing the reading, writing and playing of grooves, it is where the music lives. I appreciate you, brother!!

I appreciate this work. Love the Reggae Groove section; noticed Red Red Wine is credited to Bob Marley, he never actually wrote or covered it! Neil Diamond wrote it, then Tony Tribe did a Reggae cover version - there are Reggae Versions of many Songs, it was one of the main ways that Audience were introduced to said songs - Easy mistake to make! Bob's 'No Woman No Cry' is very popular, has Classical and Beatles-esque chords with Reggae rhythm. You could do a whole lesson all of it's own on that song (hint, hint!). Anyway: Thanks and I wish you Good Fortune.

Thanks for your questions. You can find more detailed information by subscribing to our school mailing list and by requesting our resources pack (rather than just visiting our website) we do this deliberately because we have a waiting list for some of these courses - but Groove Mastery (£20) and Complete Musician (£475) are both available more widely and can be purchased without speaking with us directly. Groove mastery is often referred to in many of these KZfaq videos. Groove is generally missing from most people's music education, and it's only a mere £20. Regarding the Complete Musician course on this page, you'll find lots of information on this program: lcsp.samcart.com/products/the-complete-musician-essentials. Our other programs and one-to-one coaching/lessons require some consultation with us first so we can help you make the best decisions. You can find out more about these programs and other ones by emailing us at admin@contemporaryschoolofpiano.com or by emailing our enrolments team at cait@contemporaryschoolofpiano.com. Regarding our One-to-one coaching and lessons, this is largely dependent on the individual student and we recommend booking a Discovery Session and filling out our application form so we can put together a program that will elevate and solve your musical challenges. So it's worth contacting us via our site and getting access to some of our application forms, the questions will help you figure out what the next best stages are in your piano playing. I hope this helps!

Tom, I have made 2 attempts to receive the Free Resource Pack that you advertise in your videos, but I have yet to receive a response from LCSP? Any suggestions? I would love to have the materials if they are still available. I sent the form associated with the link that you supply below the video. Thanks for the videos and thank you in advance if there is anything that you can do to facilitate my request!

We are an international piano school that has researched leading educational and teaching methods for piano over the last two decades. Doesn't cost you a penny to watch them and benefit from them.
