Elderly cats take special work from special people. It can be exhausting, especially when they're near end of life. But we'd all want someone to take care of us just the same. It's very much worth it.

@@crappyaccount I'm going to respectfully disagree. Unless you're on a stretcher, being transported to the ER with a stroke, it's simply untrue that most people couldn't do "anything." It doesn't take time, money or "the right living situation" to do *something* - conservatively, it would take 10 minutes to pick-up the phone & call Animal Services to help. No one's expecting that if you walk by, you'll be able to bring the cat into your life, pay for vet bills, make a KZfaq video. What's expected is that you don't simply walk past & tell yourself, "Nothing I can do." It's easy to think, "Well, look at the good life he got! If I'd called Animal Services? He'd have ended-up at the city pound, and they'd have euthanized him!" Maybe so. But it's not a given that this great life would happen. At least if you called for help, his owners might have been found; someone might have adopted him; he'd at least be warm & fed. I'm just saying, be aware of making excuses, telling ourselves untruths so that we can feel OK not doing the right thing.

Whether the comment came from a religious person or not, they're right that most people don't do what they could to help, and that it's the goodhearted people who care for those most in-need. Awwww Otto looks similar to my Coltrane (only his fur is much lighter orange)! He was found in a similar condition and had to put weight back on. We fostered him at first but we knew chances were low that anyone would adopt a blind, relentlessly vocal cat, so we kept him. I’m glad Mr. Otto got a second chance like our old boy did. He looks like he’s thriving :))

Just from watching this video, I've already grown to love Otto b/c he's such a sweet, gentle, loving, forgiving & exceptionally strong-minded cat from being the ultimate survivor. Although Otto lived through such tremendous hardship, he remarkably found ways to survivor. Plus, Otto seemed to never complain, never got nasty nor vengeful towards others, and most of all, he's so amazing to still be very forgiving & loving. Human beings can learn a lot from Otto -- animals in general! ❤💝❤

Poor baby. I have a soft spot for elderly animals. All too often with dogs and cats, especially, is that owners dump them when they get old. Alone, confused, terrified and most likely heartbroken. No feelings an animal should ever have to endure.
