It's crazy to think about, but they all must be in their early 40s now. It would be fun to see recent pics of them. (What was I back then, 15? I forget which season this was) Jonathan Frakes turns 70 this year, Patrick Stewart is already 81. Ok, now I'm depressed...I'll stop now 😄😆🤣

I would have loved to have seen a callback to one of them in Picard. Would have been great to have the Executive Officer in charge of Radishes show up in a random scene, shoot some Borg or Romulans or Changelings and give Picard a nod.

This was actually one of my favorite episodes. Picard forced to be a father, unusual pairings of cast, different mini-disasters to overcome.

I mean duranium is supposed to be way harder then steel. That being said, it is kinda hard to find a theoretical metal from 200-400 years in the future to use for shooting your TV show

It's funny how so wrecked the Enterprise often finds itself in and somehow artificial gravity tends to very durable.

I'm sure that's how their ships are designed. In the event something like this happens, the crew would need to be able to walk around to restore power.

I was wondering that recently after another clip. The plating might have their own isolated power systems in case of an emergency. Like the ships have main power, emergency power, and then each gravity plating has its own miniature power system that keeps it running for a few hours.

Come to think of it, why are the turbolifts even designed in a such a way that artificial gravity can kill the crew in the event of a fall? It should automatically shut off or something.

@@panickedpaladin3966 Probably the samekind of logic as to why all the windows and viewing portholes onboard the Enterprise seem to shatter dedpite being made out of transparent aluminum when it crash landed on Viridium III.

they don't have control right now, and the gravity is clearly still on so the turbolift is affected by it

Gravity may be artificial, but it's not 'controlled', at least at the moment.

Is it me or is it a silly idea to have a gravity field in the turbolift shafts? The car itself should have its own gravity field, that would make situations like this much more survivable.

Gravity plating always works, even if the power core is ejected. It's the most reliable technology in the entire ST universe.

A plasma fire was a type of fire that was fueled by warp plasma or another type of super-energized gas. Plasma fires could be caused by ruptures in a plasma conduit, the electro-plasma system, or some other high-energy power system. Plasma fires had a characteristic green color and emitted radiation that was dangerous to humanoids. (ENT: "The Forgotten"; TNG: "Disaster")

The 3 tap thing is only in Discovery, not TNG. The technology hadn't been developed yet.

Picard could also have said that the three leaving the lift reduces its weight and thus makes it less likely for it to plunge. And they can try to get help and inform others that Picard is there. So, Geordi seriously thinks they can endure that depressurization without letting go of their grasp and then trust that the repressurization system is working properly?
