Thank you. One of the great obscure rock and roll songs of all time. The first time I heard this song was in the early 70's. Never thought I'd ever see a video of iy. Very nice surprise

I first heard this (not this version) late one night on my Sony Clock RADIO..on CKLG FM, 4 naughtical miles from my House. I lived in Washington State, but Vancouver Island is in Canada. It was cool then and is still now. I miss those old FM stations, where the music was an adventure!

I interviewed Long John in my hometown of Vancouver when he was rehearsing as Capt. Hook for the musical Peter Pan. (Playing the lead was the charming former Olympic gymnast Cathy Rigby. She was sweet & lovely.) Anyway, I just had to nudge John & he’d start on another tangent. One of the most entertaining afternoons I ever spent working.

I will mention my second close encounter with Long John. When I was young & beautiful, I accepted an invitation to a co-worker’s home for a couple of beers. This was my second night on the restaurant job & well past midnight by the time our shifts ended. Several others were going I heard & then one by one quietly dropped away - nobody told me. So here I am alone at this dude’s fancy apartment (paid for by his “uncle”). We’re having a beer & suddenly he’s shirtless & rapidly, noisily, sweatily lifting weights. I realized the music in the background was Baldry’s A Thrill’s a Thrill, followed immediately by Lou Reed’s Walk on the Wild Side. Before Mr. Muscles wasted anymore time on me, I made my excuses & ran out of the apartment crying & flapping my hands in terror. Just kidding. I got along with the dude fine till his sudden departure a month later. But I had several of the staff laughing at me for having fallen for the guy’s clumsy pick-up routine. They could have given me a warning, but no, they needed the laughs.

Baldry was always a genius, I would have loved to see him jam with Joe Jackson, but the real genius here is the piano player, of course. My radio station as a teen, KSAN San Francisco, played the hell out of Baldry.

Amazing algorithm I guess. I just listened to this John Baldry - It Ain't Easy LP, Album, Ter Warner Bros. Records WS 1921, 1971 US, this weekend after watching the Elton John farewell show. Recalled that they were associated. Very cool to get to see this for better sense of what a great performer he was. Merci beaucoup! ☮🐉👁

We drove from Norman OK to Wichita KS in the winter of 71-72 to see Fleetwood Mac, John Baldry and someone else but Long John missed the concert cause he got busted for pot at an airport on the way. At least that's the way I remember it. One of us had his album and played the heck out of it in the dorm.

Back in the 80s, I saw him do an acoustic show in a small theatre in a very small town. The place was packed. And it was like Blues 101. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
