Yannie , I’m doing sleep studies the first week of August. I’m going to have paste put on my scalp during the study. I had hell washing the paste out ten years ago. I’m planning on using Dr Bronner peppermint soap to cleanse it this time. Anything else I should do. I’m waiting to make an appointment with you.

My locs have thinned due to periods of depression, medication, extreme extended periods of stress. Sometimes life is like that. I cut off the unhealthy. I believe my locs are beautiful nonetheless. They show my life just as my face and breasts do. Lol. I am 60 years old, so believe me when I say no one will escape the ups and downs and realities of life. There is plastic surgery and all kinds of things available to us all. But your hair is your crown and I believe a spiritual expression of your soul for sure. So it is okay for me, better than okay.

I was blessed enough to have Yannie and Jimmy touch my hair! People let me tell y'all they are THE TRUTH! I drove from Albany, GA. They not only worked on my hair, (which was a challenge), they worked on my spirit and health! I'm am truly BLESSED to start my "LOC" and "WELLNESS" JOURNEY with them! I just can't thank them enough!!🙏💕💕💕 I I was the sister before this beautiful sister came in, so I actually had the privilege to meet her as well! So, now that I think about it, Blessings just surrounded me!🙏💕

I’m almost a year and a half loc’d 🙌🏽 and haven’t been to a hair dresser since my teens by CHOICE. Until that happens, I’m happy to hear her empowering wisdom. Tomorrow’s a wash/retwist day!🙌🏽

Ugh I'm so confused😫.. I started my free form almost waist-length thick locs from a big fro in 2020 and I have noticed that my crown has thinned significantly. I think it's from traction alopecia.. I have half my head shaved with lots of itching and tenderness in the crown . I thought it was because I didn't wash it enough, but I would use a spray with water tea trea and essential oils on my scalp and hair. And washing it would help for a day or 2 if I'm lucky, but it would always itch in the crown. And i noticed that the areas where it's tender and itching it would be pulling..like when you get really tight braids.. I love not having to comb my hair... Being a loose natural was so time consuming. I wear my hair down all the time and have only had my hair styled once ... I've never had issues with thinning and balding as a lose natural because i wore mostly fros or twist outs.. braids maybe once a year.. My hair was always thick and dense. Now... I understand I am 52 and my mama was thinning and balding in the crown but she always had scalp and thinning issues and a receded hairline. I can be open to being wrong but I think that my locs being very heavy and dense, and non uniform base like you mentioned is my culprit. I had it interlocked last october, but not tight and real close to the root like she wanted to do. . I thought I was doing the right thing. The new growth is pulling. And the other issues are contributing.. I already had it on my radar to schedule some blood tests because i know my uron and Vit D are probably low since I have a history. Anyhoo I'm trying to save my hair so thank you for all you do.. I always learn something from you.. I'm gonna try and save them by treating my scalp and wearing them up.. I need some tutorials on how to wrap your locs. Its awkward since I dont have hair on one side. If you or anybody else made it to here have any thoughts or suggestions that may be useful I'd love to hear it. Thanks so much Peace n Love🙏🏽❤
