If they make a long pre-patch it needs to come out VERY soon. Our server is dying, and the hype is waning hard in the community.

Classic beta was by far the most fun experience I’ve ever had in wow. It felt like everyone genuinely felt that nostalgic hype together and I’ve had a pretty successful wow classic time :) love the vids as always bro hopefully catch you in AV some more!

They should have a long prepatch and support a Level 60 Arena Season with an Official Blizz run Championships.

I'm absolutely with you. Pre-patch vanilla wow was some of my fondest wow memories. The spec were nothing but welcome improvements and substantial quality of life changes in every way. Some, like druid, and completely transformational. I did more PvP durring this time than any other time durring wow because this was when I found my core group of RL friends to play with as we all found each other, some people re-rolled, some people relocated with transfers but this was when we all got together and pooled our knowledge and resources and planned on and eventually did end up making our own guild. Before then it was just kind of a whole bunch of high school kids all doing their own thing on their own servers before then. In the long run I ended up maining a Paladin throughout the largest portion of TBC and through Raid progression up to black temple 3 bosses in. Primarily as holy, Tanked heroics and soloed as prot here and there and finally played Ret just before and going into the sun well patch and WotlK pre-patch, which was almost as good and in some ways an improvement on the classic one. Just good fucking times man, I'm so happy I'm making the time to get to exsperience this again, for real, raw again in my lifetime. We will never really have this ever again and I'm so glad I didn't just let it pass me by as I easily could have as a 32 year old with responsibilities and other such bullshit.

This would be such a good idea I came back to get ready for TBC the LFG is full of boosts and GDKP runs so having no luck getting into content

what addon is that for your raid frames? I mean it looks like the regular raid frames but it has shadows in it and stuff :o

The template used for the level 58 in the beta won't be the same gear template for the boost. But yeah I do think the boost will be available during pre-patch. I'm curious to see if Jewelcrafting will be available during pre-patch, I can't remember if that was the case back in the day.

an old issue with classic is alliance getting shammy gear and horde getting pally gear. with a prepatch we would have the unique opportunity to raid classic with all the classes

One thing to consider is that 9.1 goes on the PTR next Tuesday, and given that it will have a 3+ month testing cycle (Blizzard has said it will be one of their longer PTRs), that kind of means we're looking at a July/August release of 9.1. I think Blizzard will want to get out TBC before June 30th (the close of Q2) so they can at least report improving sub numbers to investors. Unless I am missing a time, I believe they've always had Retail and Classic major patches staggered to not cannibalize their own players from each other. So a May 18th pre-patch followed by release 5 weeks later seems logical.

You can't just hold onto marks going into level 70. At the start of arena season it removes all your marks to prevent people from getting easy gear and then abusing it for raids.

I want a alliance resto shammy, so I would love be able to hit 60 by tbc launch. I think healing in dungeons will be fast but I need to learn the class

I want to: - Access my new Boomkin spec to finally do half the top dmg, rather than 10% of it - Finally drop tailoring (for Bloodvine set bonus) and level up LW ahead of Drum meta - Level up my B'elf paladin - Sort out professions on all my alts - PVP at any other spare moment on my rogue and shaman for gear. ....that's more content for me in pre-patch than I've had in Classic for months!

yeah would agree but i don´t think that Blizzard will keep the Pre Patch Phase longer then 4 weeks. They are always rushing the content in the last years and even in the last 2 years the Phases here in classic where quite fast

i'm spending this time pre pre patch to level up alts for transmutes . Leveling right is like hitting the slopes first with the fresh powder no trails, only bots in sight lol. don't wait to level imho.

I don't think the pre-patch phase will be long. Tops 4 weeks. I think Blizz are keen to get TBC out and convince more people to resub quickly

I'm probably the only one that does get excited watching tbc lvling dungeons. I never played it or lvled through it in retail that much. Btw does the lvling nerf come in pre patch?

I would love a 3-4 month pre-patch. (Level my belf pala up to 60 and farm a full set of high warlord pvp Gear. )

I tend to agree, given that prepatch in Vanilla -> TBC was 6 weeks or so back in the day (but part of that is because it went over the Christmas/New Years holidays, so I imagine that impacted it), and there was no Draeni and Blood Elves to level, so I hope they give it some time to breath a bit so people won't be playing their new Paladins and Shaman 24/7 just to level them. FWIW, given how much better geared the average player is in Classic compared to Vanilla, leveling in TBC is going to be a cakewalk anyways, so giving a few extra weeks of pre-patch for other characters to level up won't really hurt things much since Karazhan, Gruul and Magtheradon was going to be cleared week 1 anyway. I do disagree a bit about Beta though, it's doing a lot to pump up anticipation and if they raise the cap to 70 soon (so, today I guess?) and get people into Arena Testing I think that will start an entire hype train as people start doing PvP testing in 2s and 3s. Arenas are nice, bite sized content that is easily digestible compared to watching people run Slave Pens for the 20th time.

Pre-patch 2 months would be great, personally would love even longer like 3 months, but that could again slowly kill hype for the real TBC again, people leaving the game to come back later etc.

I think having a 2-4 month Pre-patch period would be ideal. The beta already seems pretty buggy, and putting the TBC client in the hands of the players will allow for the issues to be found a rectified quickly before the game actually launches.

I'm a bit worried that they will have a short pre-patch so that more people are tempted to buy the 58 boost.

And boost charracters would really want to lv their professions! (And if Jevelcraft is in pre patch, some may want to take that)

Several months!! Please god no. I do not want to wait that long for TBC. I've had lots of fun in Classic, but I'm done with it. I just want prepatch to go for long enough to me to level my BE Pally, which should only take a couple of weeks.

If it means that I need to wait longer to step through the black portal then i'm strongly against it. Classic feels barren to me after playing it for so long and this patch feels dreadful to me since I have nothing to do. You can level in tbc too right?

They need to give horde pally and ally shaman re-rollers at LEAST a month. That's like 4.5 hours a day 7 days a week to get 1-60, by my rough calculations.

On one side there are people who just want Classic TBC to come out as soon as possible. On the other side there are people who want the Pre-Patch to come out(sooner rather than later) and last for as long as possible BEFORE Classic TBC rolls out. Personally, I would love the Pre-Patch to come out first week of May and Classic TBC to roll-out right after the 4th of July. Of course, there are external reasons that making this a reality is highly unlikely, such as: - There is still a pandemic running wild out there. - From what little I have seen from the Beta being streamed, many things still need to be fine-tuned or fixed. - No idea how Blizzard is gonna handle the 9.1 Shadowlands patch. If they are gonna release at the same time as Classic TBC drops they will have the same shitty situtation they created a few months ago with Naxxramas and Shadowlands releasing at the same time. - There is also the level 58 boost, that MIGHT be a way for Blizz to say that during a short pre-patch of like 5 weeks that is when you can buy it. Many unknown variables out there, which could possibly delay even the Pre-Patch as far back as June.

I dont think 58 lvl gear matter that much. I remember playing pservers and I played a lot of TBC servers(blizzlike, funs) and I could easily beat the HP content with pretty shitty gear. I think it only matters for the hardcore world first players. If u actually dont own hand or ragnaros or naxx gear I think you will still replace most of the items during early leveling so I dont think it is worth to do farm

The pre-patch between Vanilla and BC was amazing! So much fun, the servers were alive back then, everyone was pvping for easy gear, although, I am unsure that will be the case this time. The game is more known, easier to get raid gear, more raid options, more people with money because all the farming tricks are known. I believe what we will see is people returning, not to pvp but farm for gold. Speaking of farming for gold the low-down scum farmers will be out in full force making the game garbage.

One thing that I think would help the community dramatically is banning gdkps which by tos it is but blizzard doesn’t care because it’s not retail

Honestly I'm fine with a long Prepatch if they up the difficulty of tbc raids. Right now it's a joke how easy they are. The atunment for the raids takes longer than a first time clear run with blue gear

I know i will always be far behind everyone, but i want to start playing classic and get in while the hype is alive for tbc. What NA server would be good to start fresh? I don't really want to play on pvp server because i feel like that would only slow down my leveling.

prepatch wont stay longer than 2 or 3 weeks im pretty sure. why would they add prepatch and let it stay in that content for like 1 months or even more?

Speaking as a raid leader in Vanilla TBC, i have no interest in playing Classic TBC. I came into WoW around the opening of the gates of AQ. I was level 55 when Vanilla TBC released. I missed out on the Vanilla (lvl 60) experience, but was able to clear up to KJ in Sunwell. Eventually killing him in the 3.0 prepatch. I understand the excitement for Classic TBC for anyone that never got to experience it 13 years ago. But as someone that has played retail all the way to the utter failure of Shadowlands, repeating the process for another 13 years would be a waste of life and time. can't really go into TBC prepatch without the fork of do you continue with your character to TBC or do you go Classic Era server. i guess that has to happen then your in prepatch if you picked TBC. I couldn't imagine prepatch loaded into Vanilla. it would mean Vanilla Classic Era would include the TBC prepatch. once the talent tree's come in and the new profession 330 cap along with races. it's not really classic anymore. so it makes senses the split will happen then. i really hope we get a few months of prepatch. there was so much fun right up to launch from memory even Battlegrounds was fun with the new talent tree's.

Just as a side note, the tbc beta boost gear is not the paid boost gear. Blizzard has stated the boost gear will be dungeon blues (or equivalent).

15% for every level is completely wrong. First, 1-10 is the same. 11 is 1.1% and it slowly grows to 18.1% at lvl 27. And than every level after is 18.1%less for a total of 17.5% exp less.

Anyone that wants a long pre patch obviously has not been playing classic. You have had time to do the raids and pvp. One month max is as long as the pre patch needs to be. We dont want tbc flavored classic we want TBC!!!

There was alot of streamers in classic beta not people and you can see streamers most of them give up game and are detrimental to game yet blizzard still caters to them They have increased the level cap for streamers again there's no reason that we don't have prepatch right now besides the fact that blizzard is milking us for money

Man the prepatch is gonna be a disaster in alot of ways too. I think the amount of characters who will stay in vanilla is higher than people think. guilds are gonna be torn apart for sure.

I'm okay with it being a little long, around a month long, if it's released asap. Retail is already dead and classic is also dead so they need to get this thing pushed out asap. I'm on the beta and it's good, addon authors still need to put in some more work obviously but they should have time either way, and the raids need to get tested which is happening soon. After that, they are good to release it, so the only reason for a long pre-patch would be to allow people to level and I don't think people who are swapping races or leveling 1-60 should get the red carpet treatment while everyone else waits on them. If your race is that important to you, grind it out in a few weeks. If it isn't, boost with a worse race and just play the game, but I don't think everyone should be waiting around for the minority of players who "NEED" to level 1-60 with their new races.

I don’t really understand how the paid boost is a bad thing because the game is so overran with botters and people who pay for boosting anyway. Bliz might as well offer an option for themselves to profit off of it because it’s happening whether we want it to or not

Yes Classic is kinda boring now get a really Early pre-patch would be sooo fin to play around with new speccs and so on :) but also sadly Blizzard is so incompetent now days so Pre-patch will hit like 1 month before TBC hits.
