Just did this haircut on myself and I’m *in love.* I’m a former cosmetologist who always cuts and colors their own hair, and this tutorial was super easy to follow and straightforward. I’ve never done a full razor cut on my *own* hair and I’m super pleased with how it turned out.

Tbis wome had straight dark thick hair correct? That created into nice textures and waves, not chop chops from a bad shag..what is the hair cut called I am getting my do it tomorrow. Would she still pit it in a pony tele???

Yes, she has dark, thick hair. Thick strands too. It's called a long shag. You can put it in a pony tail if you desire.

Don't know if you'll see this but I'm curious about the theory when you're cutting curly hair, it frizzes. That happened to me many years ago and it was a nightmare when I got it and the grow-out was even worse. Have techniques changed? This was Chaz Dean, mind you. Also, what if you have curly hair but it's thin? Do you just not razor cut thinner hair in general? Thanks! xoxo

On fine hair razor cutting can work well but the technique has to be tighter and use less texture movements. Some hair does not react well to a razor cut and a dull blade only exaggerates this by ruffing up the cuticle. It's more about hair texture and cuticle reaction than it is about curl or straight hair.

We hear this a lot. Few suggestions...1) show a potential hairstylist the image of the style you would like and ask if they can do it 2) if they use a Feather Plier Razor they likely have advanced razor training and are more likely to achieve these results 3) find stylists on Instagram or other social platforms with images of final looks you like. If they can achieve it on others, they can likely do the same for you.

@@JataiFeather I might be wrong? ...but I think they meant that watching you practice your art and listening to you explain the techniques is very calming and kinda therapeutic, similar to how some people enjoy watching Bob Ross painting. It was really interesting and had chill vibes to me at least... You have amazing skills!
