In this episode i share my long rifle competition setups. I discuss 3 rimfire shooting disciplines that i love the most and that i compete in. These 3 long rifle competitions is what most new 22 rimfire competitive shooters want to compete in. In this video i share technical information on three long rifles that has been build for a specific shooting style in the form of 22 NRL shooting, Extreme long range rimfire shooting and Long rifle bench rest shooting. The three models of long rifles i am discussing in this video is 2x Anschutz match 54 rimfires and one CZ455. All three of these long rifles is very popular in the sport of competitive shooting.
I am joined by competitive long rifle shooter Barend Nell that discuss his NRL rimfire setup and his thoughts on his gun build. I discuss the two Anschutz long rifle setups that has been dedicated for extreme long range rimfire shooting and bench rest long rifle shooting. Shooters who owns 22 long rifles will find this video and information in this episode very help full. The information i share on the long rifle competition setups is a guidance to improve your skill as a competitive shooter and it will guide you on needed accessories that you might need to supplement your rimfire shooting setup for match days.
We also discuss ammo that works well with certain 22 long rifle setups and what you need to do to increase your ability to shoot more accurate with certain rimfire ammo brands in different long rifle setups. I show a display in accuracy with my current bench rest rimfire setup and how it performs on the layout i shoot with on a bench. Choosing the correct 22 long rifle ammo is crucial for all three rimfire disciplines. I am a professional long rifle shooting sportsman and i also do competitive air gun shooting for a career. My 22 long rifle setups is the most important for me for delivering high accuracy on steel and paper target. I love competitive long rifle precision shooting and rimfire hunting and it is part of my lifestyle. I love to help competitive long rifle shooters and this is why i try to answer and guide as many people as what i can in this episode. As a professional long rifle marksman i love to teach other shooters the best i can when it comes to shooting skill and good 22 long rifle ethics. I want to set a good example to other rimfire competitive shooters out there.
I work close with rifle manufacturers on developing and with HN Sports that has been developing fire arm bullets and air gun hunting ammo for over a 100 years now. My goal is to advance the sport of shooting in rimfire hunting and competitive shooting making a passion a reality for most out there that love a long rifle as much as what i do. I co-designed the H&N heavy slug for the hunting range with HN Sports that is specifically designed to give you maximum accuracy and expansion in hunting and target shooting. In this video i share my knowledge on rimfire bullets and how they act once we use them in competitions. This rimfire video a good teaching display for serious sport long rifle shooters that want to learn and progress in this sport.

Loved it. Thank you! My current bench rifle is an Anschutz 22lr target made in 1986. Has match 56 and I use weaver T36 scope. I shoot Bench in Australia. 18:22 😊

Not sure if they export but for the cz 455 in the oryx chassis take a look at anarchy outdoors for magazine extentions etc...

At about five minutes in uou say that you have to match the ammo to the barrel, that is more or less correct. However you can use a barrel tuner to tighten up those 22lr groups

That's not a legal .22lr benchrest set up in the UK for the competition rules here. Nothing can guide the fore stock in the tripod, it has to have at least an inch of clearance either side of the widest part of the fore stock. Also rear bags are not allowed in the rules, the rifle has to be supported by the shoulder, with no contact with the bench. I use a 1963 Anschutz 1413, with a 3" wide Anschutz DIN Rail bench block, Vector Optics 12-60x60, a bespoke barrel tuner, the stock has an adjustable benchrest shoulder fitted to the Butt, and I use Centre-X out to 100 yards (although the range I use is 100 metres), but also shoot 50 metres, and 25 yards. I have a modified Caldwell Tripod with a completely flat surface and the required 1 inch of clearance either side of the bench block. I've only ever shot competition under the above rules, and initially thought you were cheating with that set up, since it looked very much like you could load a round and pull the trigger with a string from the back of the firing point, and that would make the competition all about spending the most money to get the best score, rather than the skillset of the shooter. I honestly bought this rifle for £125, the bench block was £40, the barrel tuner £90, the Scope £400, and the adjustable shoulder butt was about £100, so I prefer the rules here I think. Interesting video though.
