Just a tip guys - Should not stack 5 gal buckets no high then 3 high without support between the buckets. Because any higher it can break the seal on the lid on the bottom bucket (rice, wheat, beans are very heavy)

Agree! It’s only for a short moment while I clear off the shelf to move them. Just trying to organize. But I’ll mention that next time I record the long stock. Thank you I should have mentioned that.

Making good progress. The woodshed is looking good, are you going to be able to store your pellets in there too? I would move the Christmas and camping to the red shelves and use the black one for the heavy buckets. That way you don't have to move the shelves across the room or go buy more shelves. That is if the black ones are the same. You bring so much joy watching you and your family
@modernhomesteadalaska
@modernhomesteadalaska Жыл бұрын
Thank you I agree! No on the pellets. Any amount of water and they are bad. They are stacked so high in the garage. Maybe if we ever had a shop that’s completely closed in we could.

I would put all the black shelves on one wall then put all those containers and buckets on them. You should put how many Mylar bags you have inside the black containers so you won’t need to count it later for inventory, having the quantity in front makes inventory check faster. When you remove a bag cross it out and jot down the new count. Very nice.

Great job organizing and building. I agree with your hubby I prefer bone-in pork shoulder/butt too. To help earthquake-proof your food jars you can place thick rubberbands around them preventing them from hitting against each other and breaking. For your shelves, thick bungee cords across the fronts and sides work great with tubs and boxes. I find them easier to take one side down and put back up when having to access or move the tubs. Hope this helps.

You have really stocked up👍 great organizational skills , love the tubbie holder. I have one of my daughters here and three of the grown grandchildren visiting from the states so they helped me harvest the garden and tear the green house down only the tent is still standing but it has a old tarp on the ground to unload my trailer and get that organized in the next few days. You really are very busy. Always nice videos to watch. Cannot believe the metal rack will not hold the weight of the gl buckets. I must be confused I thought your chicken coop was done.

Lovely Jessica, it must be such a satisfying thing for you to have achieved so much today with your foodstuffs in the basement. That new shelving system looks the business 👌 Just an idea here.....why not move the Christmas stuff and the camping stuff onto the red shelves and use the other 2 stronger shelving units for the buckets and the rest of your food. The 2 shelves look like the stronger one you just bought...is that right? . Most of the camping and Christmas stuff is lighter (maybe....hopefully) and then you would be able to use the 2 stronger shelves for food. Aaron, your pork butt looks fabulous 👍 I've never smoked meat but I bought one of those cold smoker tubes you use in your grill...now the weather is a bit cooler I can start making my own cheddar cheese wheels again and I'll smoke some to see how I like them. Until tomorrow, Lovely Jessica. I have an addiction to your channel and love it more each day., So thank you for that. 💖 All the very best to You, Aaron, your beautiful Mum and the rest of the Family from the UK 🇬🇧 .
