I am absolutely in awe at the sheer skill displayed in this whole urban downhill run. There's quite literally no room for error - a wrong turn, a little too much momentum, any miscalculation, any momentary lapse in focus, and you're screwed. That you made it through the whole five minutes of steep roads, sharp/narrow turns, ramp jumps and what-not with no stumble is nothing short of spectacular. Well done!

@@irodragon7184 ahh well kinda. his point was that he puts his brakes really to the test, going really fast and braking very shortly before the curve, you put a lot of energy on those brakes. a better way to compare it to a car is if you drive really fast and also brake really closely to an obstacle (a car in front of you, a curve, anything really), you put so much more force on those brakes than if you would drive like a normal guy. going from 100-0 is easier for brakes to handle than going from 50-0.

Well, lots of people actually go up the stairs on Sundays, to visit a sanctuary at the top of the hill. Still impressive... even more because Bogota is at 2600m above sea level. If you're not acclimatized, you can end up feeling like your heart's about to explode from climbing a couple flights of stairs. Let alone going up (or down) that whole path

We used have a place called Stocker's Woods. We would build ramps and curves on a course. We would mostly use shovels and dirt, but we'd also use anything we got our hands on. Someone threw away bunch of doors, we'd use them to make a 180 loop back. Old mattresses would be used as safety nets. Anything that wasn't nailed down was a candidate for our neighborhood bike park in the woods.
