Theres not that much about the town it's small it's not nearly as big as a city and theres still nallys in longford town which is pretty cool

There's a whole webpage dedicated to the history of this town on my lastname o freel which is ferral clan in Ireland or o fearghil they were lord's and warriors for hundreds of years and history of them in Longford for over 1000 yrs .. they fought the English and the Vikings and was taking over by king Henry the 1 or 2 and lived as tenants under him after that..

Yes I agree to. It's very confusing to understand the vicinity and townships, when you live abroad. I'm trying to find out the origins of a Celtic cross my mother inherited from her great-grandmother (Ellen Murtha co kildare) Her father William Murtha, Granard longford married Elizabeth Welsh 1835 Ellen married James Egan and they had 10 children born in a newly founded town named Killarney Australia .
