All the pigs (especially Tiny Tim), Ringo, now Tillie, the alpacas, the new little rescue calf in with Moo (sorry, my memory is down right now 😉) but watching Carl and his family dancing just makes my heart full of joy. Thank you Lester for persevering with Carl at first, not knowing how it would turn out. What a blessing for us all.

I think it's a good idea to start the weaning process. Jolene seems ready and pearl needs to recover especially this being her first time being a mom. I also noticed how Jolene has a heart shaped spot on the back of her back right leg ❤️❤️ so cute.

I LOVE this part of LHL. Dancing Ostriches. But then I love little RIP and Jolene, they are just too cute. Fiona and Millie are such sweet little girls just getting their voices, I think their barks are so precious. Hmmm, I could go on forever. LHL is just an amazing place and I watch it second every day, ISS is always my first video! ISS is what caught my heart and I start my day loving all my favorite animals and people.

The ladies were lifting their skirts!! 🤣 We've had similar strange weather. I got use to the cooler temps and then wham! 40 tomato plants from seeds?! Not only is that kudos to Jami, but will definitely help with the grocery bill! Tat is growing up quickly. Make sure to watch the interaction between him and Carl especially since mating season is here/coming soon. It's definitely time to start the weening process. Pearl is doing a good job of trying to move Jolene along and Jolene seems willing to give it a try. Pearl needs to fatten up much more before winter. Santoro looks like he's going to have to pushed off because he doesn't seem to be getting the hint. Mr. Huck reminds me of several thin men I know, but they are the ones who really work hard for what they have. I was wondering where the "milk squirting" clip came from! 😂

As far as weaning, I'm glad you and Rick decided to wait one more week. I am of the belief both moms could knock their calves into next week if they want too. I think unless something dire were to happen, let nature take its course. It's not like Pearl is in the wilderness, she will get food thru the winter.

In case grapes become harder to come by in the winter (or their quality drops or price increases), you can buy a bunch of them now and freeze grapes and then thaw them out when it is time to feed the Ostriches. So you can try stocking up and having them in your freezer. There are online instructions on how best to freeze and package them.

Jami if you’re expecting an early frost, try covering the tomato plants with sheets. I’ve kept tomato plants and tomatoes on the vine until Christmas Eve before. If the temps drop below 32 degrees, there’s not much you can do. Good luck. ❤
