I just bought this watch last Sunday May 19, 2024 at Sun Valley Mall here in Concord. I paid $4000. But i used my credit card. I really love it! Very elegant!

I’ve owned this watch for nine years and it’s my daily wearer. It’s as accurate as one could reasonably expect from a mechanical watch. I recently had it serviced by Longines when I noticed that it was losing time. Like most watches with multiple complications servicing can be expensive in this case about $450. Because Longines uses 21mm watch straps they are ridiculously expensive. That said, I love the watch and would buy it again. The fact that there is no luminescent used it’s impossible to read in low light.

A few years ago I had a Longines Spirit. I was amazed at the quality of finish for the price. The dial was so well worked with the raised and angled hour indices.

I had it with steel bracelet, then changed to a dark brown crocodile strap with beige stitching. Looks so much better and makes the yellow gold moon really pop! Keeps really accurate time too. I love wearing this watch!

For the price point you cant beat it. Yes! Its a very fine piece to look at as well.

This watch is based on the Valjoux 7750; the basic elements and layout are all there. The date is now a pointer-date, but that's a relatively simple rework of the date wheel system. The moon phase and 24hr subs, are also simple add-ons to the 7750 layout. The month display is actually linked to the day. It is all extremely efficient and nothing truly complicated even though it does look complex. Longines has added a column wheel instead of the cam system, making it a tad more classic. For what this offers, it's a lot of bang for the buck.

This one he shows doesn’t have the column wheel, has the older version of the mechanism!

@@dgdave2673 The .5 version does not only boast a column wheel but also a silicon balance spring. I asked Longines about this! :D I am aware the older version doesn't have it, but you can't buy the old version "new" anymore.

Hi, amazing review. Im looking at this watch for my next one but i have one question about it. Do you need to set it once a year or once every 2 months?

Thank you. You need to set it almost every month. It is a triple calendar, not a perpetual or annual calendar.

Great watch. Sadly the blue face version is underwhelming. Longines should have used a better blue.

Can someone inform me about setting the date functions between 19.00-6.00 hours? Why is that? What can happen? And is this just for setting the weekdays (mon-sun? Or also for the day of the month hand? Thanks for explaining!

The gears for date change start connecting between 9:00 and 2:00 so if you change the date or day between those times, you can a)break a gear, b) unadjust a hand or disk. It is recomended to adjust dates between 3:000 to 6:00 just in case

Do you know if the chronograph can run continuously? Or will this harm the watch?

@@olafspronk540 it depends if it is a vertical clutch, lateral clutch or column wheel chronograph. It wont harm the watch, it just means it will probably need service sooner.
