Mark saving the day as usual. Word of advice: Don't resize your bracelet over carpet! If you drop the collar on the carpet, it's GONE! And as Mark said, the pin will not stay in the bracelet without the collar.

This video taught me how to change my bracelet size! Extremely helpful. If like me, you don’t have the proper tools at home - patience, needle nose pliers, and a sewing machine needle do the trick.

I helped a friend shorten his SARB033, and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the collar on the center link. That was way easier than having the collar on the outside edge. If I hadn't watched your #15 video with pins and collars, I wouldn't have had any idea what was going on. Thank you for these videos.

This took me forever to realize on my Oceanus T200. I was sure there was a collar but didn’t know where it was until it fell out. Thank goodness I had a towel to catch it. Then i spent ten minutes putting the collar into the wrong side of the link, then dawned on me to check the hole sizes. This video is so helpful. You do great work, Marc

Long Island Watch hey Mark, I recently bought a SRPB9. I knew that it was pin and collars but when sizing the bracelet I was surprised the system was a tad different. The collars where placed in the middle part of the link, and not on the end like on my turtle. And the pins were symmetrical. They were easier to deal with, just thought all pins and collars by Seiko would work same way.

I can't thank you enough, Marc, for this video. I've been avoiding sizing pin/collar bracelets for years. I can't tell you how many collars I've lost during sizing that ,seem to disappear into thin air. Instead, I've bought straps, Strapcode bracelets or had a professional do the sizing. Thanks to you and this video, I now have several OEM bracelets installed and sized; and others to come, saving me $$$ in the long run.

Thank you Marc! That is the right design for a pin and collar bracelet, in my humble opinion. I believe that’s the design my Omega SMP had. Collars on the outside of the bracelet are unnecessarily difficult.

Marc, great and useful information here. While I do not have the watches you referenced in the video, I did recently purchase a Rado Golden Seahorse that has a beads of rice bracelet that I needed to resize. While I have resized numerous watch bands for myself and other over the years and have an accumulation of numerous tools for that task, I was struggling trying to remove the pins on the bracelet. I knew the bracelet was a tube and pin type, and I had never resized one of those types before. I watched numerous You Tube videos that all noted how the tubes were easy to lose, so I approached with caution. Using my existing tools I was able to get one pin about one quarter of the way out but it was very tight and refused to pull out even with a few gentle tugs with my pliers. On this bracelet there are no arrows to indicate which direction the pins should be removed, so I thought perhaps I was trying to remove the pin in he wrong direction. I put a pause on my efforts and tried to gather more information, but I could not find anything on a tube and pin resize on a beads of rice bracelet. You should also note that most of the videos that focused on this resize would show a close up of the tube on one side of the bracelet near on edge. Under magnification, I did not see that on my watch, so I was puzzled. Yesterday, I watched you video and the light bulb went off when you noted that the tubes in your Seiko watches were of the internal type. I also saw that you used a pin pusher that was much longer than the ones I had, so I ordered a few after measuring the diameter I needed (0.80mm). This morning I tackled the resize and with he new pin pushers, the pin came right out, but no tube. I realized I needed to push out the tubes separately from the middle links. The beads of rice bracelet makes this task very cumbersome and you certainly need patience, but I took my time and was able to remove the two links to fit my wrist. Your tips and comments were invaluable in both giving me the confidence, using the right tools and understanding what I need to do, so I waned to say, THANK YOU, and let your other viewers know that you do a great job in your watch and learn videos. Best regards.

I wish I saw this video before I spent 1.5 hrs with my Seiko Prospex Solar Chrono Diver SSC675p1 last night. I saw your other video on pin and collar bracelettes and couldnt figure out why the pin wouldnt come out. You definitely need the small longer punch to disengage the pin from the internal collar, as the shorter ones on the vice-type pin-pushers don't go in far enough. Once I got one out and finally saw how it worked, it was a little easier. Great video.

Thanks Mark, you just saved me $20 (minus what it cost me for the tools!). But it was satisfying to be able to size it myself. Things seem to be countersunk well and I have the micro adjustment in the middle so if I'm off a little I can adjust. Kind of a pain though, I can see why people are going to screw. I just sized a Deep Blue and that was another new type. It had screw heads on both sides with one side a pin and the other a tiny screw with a sort of spring. I had to use a screwdriver on both sides to open it and close it. Not sure what that is called. Again thanks!

Similar system on the Alpinist watches. I (stupidly) did the bracelet change on my couch, expected cotter pins instead of pins and collars, and lost two of the collars. By the grace of the watch gods, I found the collars! Should have watched this video before... I think it makes sense to install the pin the same way it was removed, that force you apply would drive the collar into the middle link instead of the side...if that makes sense.

Hey there Marc. Love you vids, especially that sense of authenticity that you bring to the table. It's something I try to give my reviews too :-) Anyways, I recently got the white Citizen BE9170 and was so impressed with it that I ordered the black version too. No, they don't feel as premium as my Zeppelin moonphase or as robust as my Orient Ray II, but for the price I think it's an awesome watch. The size, that domed crystal, and the way the dial plays with the light is pretty remarkable. I see you're selling them over at LIW too...any chance for a bit of a review from you?

If I'm correct, reassembling in the correct reverse order is somewhat necessary. As the pin goes through the collar the force of it going through would actually tighten the collar around the pin due to the tapered center link hole.
