Hi guys. Here's another Namco arcade LP. Emeraldia is a puzzle game made in 1993. This is a game about a dolphin named Mint that goes out to rescue sea creatures that have been captured by the demon Jamir. You can play either a simple arcade style puzzle game or an adventure mode in single player. The adventure mode is EXTREMELY difficult to beat, let alone on one coin. I just can't do that final escape stage! The arcade style mode is like Cosmo Gang: The Puzzle except the way blocks are cleared is different. As the game explains throughout the playthrough, you drop like-colored cubes onto one another above to damage cubes once before breaking them again. They have a chain reaction that will strike like-colored cubes in all adjacent directions. This gimmick is hard to understand. It's also borderline-impossible to clear out a cube color entirely under pressure. This makes Emeraldia one of Namco's hardest arcade games. If you have a friend with you, there's also a two-player battle mode.
Credits go to:
- Namco (Bandai Namco) who made & owns the rights to this game.
- Hamster Corporation who owns the Arcade Archives lineup.
- Nintendo who made the console I played this on - the Switch. This game is also available on PS4.
This was recorded with OBS Studio & edited with CapCut. The game logo I borrowed for the intro is owned by Namco. I made the draw for the intro/thumbnail with Microsoft Paint. The character Mint is also (c) Namco.
Note that since this is a full play of a game with strategy tips, that means the video contains spoilers.
I still have some more Namco arcade LPs to do so stay tuned for those & more. See ya.
