This seems typica of various usb c chargers, there is no way around that to be honest unless every port could power at least 65w at all times which isn't realy reasonable.

When you say it won't work overseas, what about Japan which is roughly the same?

not over "seas" they don't, but over the ocean where japan is they might. just don't hold them over a sea. it mentions max 125v, bur frequency agnostic, so if they fit into a japanese outlet they should work.

So the power strip one lists only 120v compatibility whereas the over one runs from 100-240. As Narc notes below it should work in Japan.
