Great explanation of a cryptic Taiji movement Thanks Sifu !!!

Great explanation. As i always teach. The movements of a form is not the application. But its a force that you train within that movment that will become the apllication in many different ways ( or outer postures )

It's because taichi is a mixed martial art. Shuai jiao which is Chinese wrestling had influence on it along with other methods.

I`ve always been a big fan of martial arts. Throughout my life, I`ve observed many kinds of teachings of it, however, I`ve been recently observing more and more so-called "tai-chi" masters. It's actually beautiful how they perform their choreographies (alongside the student as it takes two to dance) to make the impression of this so-called "chi" power. Just take a look at 1:26 as this one is of comedic value - his strike to the rib made his partner's leg go into the sky...

Thank you for the ideas behind it. This changes my practice of the short form but already little, because I had until now no idea at the " fist under the elbow."

Adam. that was so cool. I was just thinking about this and how it was like a modified second step splitting action that has no foot sweep. Splitting is for me a sort of re- centering action and in this it allows for the left arm hand 'parry' action to open up for a 'splitting punch'. I really loved this.

@@MarkMelchior Trying is useless you either do or don't.More value in feeling the flow of internal movement in the form than thinking about applications while doing the form. However the form can be practiced in a variety of ways on the scale of substantial and insubstantial or particle and wave

But this could be used in situations outside of close range, stand up grappling, correct? I think it would work if you'd fallen as well and wanted to use one hand to pull your attacker to you whilst striking with the other hand . Or conversely, you might want to push your attacker away in order to get space to hit with the other hand. It can be applied as a throw too right? But, the pushing or pinning hand does it just push the attacker away or does it push them down as well?

Dear Adam, I just watched the new movie. I would say that the only people who would help you really test your skills full force are actual competent grapplers. Their bodies are conditioned to take extreme amount of force. In my opinion you need to train with skilled grapplers, shuai jiao or judo practitioners.

The Shifu is showing an application for the form.Short and sweet.what and who you apply it to is God's will.Take your advice and train with competent grapplers!

@@donaldreid4193 I am familiar with these kind of skills, under Yin Cheng Gong Fa lineage. I don't doubt them at all. BUT! In all Neijiaquan what is missing is competent highly-skilled training partners. What we usually experience is a skilled sifu who tosses around less skilled individuals. Most grapplers are highly conditioned though. I would reckon that if a neijia practitioner is able to apply one's skills on a conditioned pressure-testing grappler then we will truly witness something new and unique.

@@basilistsakalos9643 I hear you and I’m sure it will be different or have some variation but when it comes down to it at the higher levels like that which Adam is approaching it just does not matter what your background is you are just a drop in an ocean.

@@donaldreid4193 I used to believe that. The more I grow older and the more I 've seen the less I believe your last phrase. Human body has some pretty interesting and unique skills, eg neijia skills. Yet, the level of conditioning and body integration a highly trained grappler has would put neijia skills to the test.

Nice try to interpret that form but it doesn't make the grade.you better g back to the drawing board! Look at the form again from the end of the lu and press and continue with left had intercepting punch then chinna then punch under elbow then intercepting punch with right hand and parrying with left and punching under elbow.similar to chen Sanhuan Zhang.
