The animation overall is very good at communicating it's message and how hte characters feel. Also, i like how they used the shaky cup at the end to represent the tension they were feeling. Well done.

Did anyone notice how the cop kept looking at the Doberman separately from the rest of the dogs, it was until his friend noticed and stuck is head in front of the doberman that the cop realised he just a kid. Up until then he looked at him like he was an enemy.

My interpretation in rewatching it; made it worthwhile as of observing the uncomfortable atmosphere and additional subtle hints. Here I go, I guess: Cop stops a car. 3 of them were just like him. But then he saw one that wasn’t like him It’s not the loud kind of racism, but the suspicious stare and the fact that it’s quiet makes it more unsettling. Until the driver faces in front of him, he lets them go. Then the victim (or almost a victim) contemplated what just happened, and thinking about the advantages or privileges that the other dogs have compared to him. Fearing for his life once he imagined a police car right behind him. While the two at the back were both relieved and quickly chat away like nothing happened. The driver looked at the worried passenger and at the empty cup with no lid and straw, with the other cup fully contained with a straw. Which might symbolize the inequality of how the cop reacted, or even society as a whole. Great video btw!

I have a strange sense that a low quality version of "pick up the phone" by travis scott will play at a certain time in this video

Some of these comments are beyond ignorant. Everyone can understand abstract/ symbolism storytelling till it's about race.... interesting. So let me break down the obvious points and metaphor being made in the animation that was so beautifully done. All the other dogs (golden retriever) looked like the cop which means they are the same except for the doberman which here, represents a black person. If anyone knows anything about dobermans, they get a bad rep for being "aggressive dogs" when that isn't the case. If you also pay attention to the fact the doberman isn't the driver, he is in the passenger seat and you can use that as an metaphor to the lack of control minorities have in society if you will. The "stare" the officer gave the doberman, is one the doberman knows. The officer looks him up and down obviously contemplating until the driver comes into view and redirects the officer till he gets a call then he leaves. When they drives off and the driver is clearly worried about the doberman, for the other two kids in the back, they are oblivious to the other context of what that means apart from - it was just a scary moment with the law nothing more. However, the Doberman is triggered by all the other time/subtle racism things have happened to him because he knows what that "stare" means, he's seen it all his life (e.g. flashback to other aspects of his life). If you realize in all his flashbacks the other dogs are gold retrievers and him being the focal point (smart composition and an amazing artist as this person is) in the middle indicates of him being the kid on the sideline or being made a point by a teacher or at the shop. Am I reading into these scenes? yes and the fact that you can put two and two together is the point. It's left open for you to think of other scenarios of his/her life. Even with what happened, the driver doesn't say anything and continues to drive but the cup keeps rattling gets their attention which I think is symbolize for many things. Where is the cup? it's to the right of the driver which the doberman sits in the passenger seat. It's also the only empty cup in the car beside a full one. Remember the Driver didn't say anything and continued to driver till the cup got their attention then the scene cuts to the words on the screen RECOGNIZE injustice. indifference. issue. I can pretty much go one about this scene cause I think it's my favorite part and most powerful part but I will leave it here. You can interpet what you will and pick apart what doesn't negate the point of the animation and the message being said. The irony of it all is all the ignorant comments twisting and nitpicking while the ending says "Recognize injustice. Recognize indifference. Recognize the issue." and you ignorant assholes hung up on which dog is what and staring doesn't mean anything. YOU CANNOT TALK FOR THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE IT. If you want to help go read or talk to people of color. You have no idea how subtle these things goes and if you can recognize it and call it out, we can do more to change the mindset. Notice how the music rises and gets tense but dissipates as soon as the "white" dog shows his face, that was intentional. I don't think people understand how close he could have and was to to being killed, that's the point. And if people think just ignoring the officer is a viable and efficient way to avoid being killed, you are being ignorant. I'm not saying that can't happen as it certainly can, but again that's not the point. What got me the most though was the sympathy/concern and understanding the driver seemed to have afterwards.
