Comet P1 Nishimura will fly past Earth in September 2023, and it is expected to be visible to the naked eye. The September 2023 comet was discovered by Japanese amateur astronomer Hideo Nishimura. At the time of discovery, the comet had an apparent magnitude of 10.4, or about 40 times fainter than a star on the threshold of naked-eye visibility. The comet is brightening as it approaches the Earth and the Sun. As of August 26, its magnitude had skyrocketed to 7.9, a ten-fold increase in brightness as compared to the night it was discovered.
In this video, you will find every detail on how to see Comet Nishimura in the coming days.

amateur because it isn't his profession, people wrongly think skill levels define if you are a professional or not. in real terms you are only a professional when most of you earnings come from it and doesn't reflect skill however in most cases the professionals have more skill but this isn't always the case.

@@yuzu54o Dear, about comet 12p pon...the horned comet. is there any chance we see it with naked eyes? and my lifetime question about comets: is there any threat for Earth if Earth locates inside a comet's tail? thank you so much for helping human beings...
@PygmalionFaciebat
@PygmalionFaciebat 8 ай бұрын
@@Strangesounds2012 On your last question i definetely can answer: The tail of a comet is very much like fine dispersed dirty snow. The particle sizes of that tail are very small. A millimeter or so. Cant be bigger - if it would be bigger, the comet would desintegrate with one approach to the sun. Because the tail is millions of kilometers long, a particle size of more than one millimeter, would mean a very big mass. But comets doesnt have that big mass. So from that its easy to say: even when the earth gets into the comets tail , there is nothing to fear. In fact it would be a lucky case, because it would mean a lot of (not dangerous) shooting stars in the nightsky (when those small particles hit the atmosphere and glow for a moment). In fact, thats the reason for the shooting star shower in early august (perseids). Its because a comet left its tail in the earth orbit - and every year the earth is going through that left over tail of that comet. There is absolutely no danger in that. Its almost like earth would fly through a snowflake-cloud in space. As for your question about the comet 12p ... i dont know. I dont know that comet yet. Maybe Nishimura, or someone other can answer on that. My guess is: that its probably not visible with naked eye , otherwise it would have been made bigger news.

I live in Central Illinois and I've seen the comet with my own eyes this entire week. It's the only object visible in that area of the sky and it's as bright as the North Star. At first I thought it was Venus because of how bright it is and it doesn't flicker like a star but this morning it was significantly brighter. I started thinking it was a comet so this is great I discovered this video. It's in the ENE sky and it's very visible at 4-530 AM

@@toneenorman2135 I don't think it is because it appeared this week and is getting brighter every day. It's on my way to work, I usually leave around 4:50 AM which is around the time it can be visible. It's the only thing I see in that part of the sky as far as stars are concerned. It also grows dimmer as the sun rises too. I might wake up tomorrow morning and get a video of it and post on my channel. I'll let you guys decide and debate. I head ENE towards work. Unfortunately, what isn't mentioned is the waning Moon is high (and BRIGHT) in the morning sky this week. Last quarter occurs on 9/6, New Moon is on the 15th. While it's waning it will dim a little, but it'll also pass directly in the portion of the sky that the comet will be in. Even if it achieves 'naked-eye' visibility, we still might need binoculars (at least) to see it. 🤞 just the same!

Northeast before sunrise right now. However on the Southern Hemisphere, this comet is only 16 deg above the sun and is very hard to see. What makes it worse is it is closing on the the sun's Az Alt. On 9 Sep, it will rise at the same time as the sun and will be impossible to see. Then it turns into the twilight side but remains very close the the sun until it's gone. In short words, probably not for the Southern Hemisphere.

I'm not sure what I saw two nights ago. I was looking through binoculars at the stars. And I saw what looked like a star moving west from where I was looking. I thought it was a plane, but there were no flashing lights of a plane. There was no colored tail. It was just a white dot, looked like all the other stars through my binoculars, but it was not moving all that fast. I was thinking may be a comet, but they have tails. Then I thought, a satellite? But I've never seen one of those to compare it to. I believe it was around 12:30/1:00 am Eastern time. And it was pretty high up there. It was moving toward the big dipper.

@@fnowat So that cloud must have been turning retrograde compared to the actual solar system, but that would hardly get an explalation (humans would relate to). A huge magnetic pole shift or something similar would be required, like some occurance that would had brought Nemesis, the sun's twin away from the solar system, since most observed star systems evolve in pairs.

Technically Hyakutake was far closer than Hale-Bopp. In fact, Hyakutake having passed so close to our planet is the only reason why Hyakutake became brilliant enough to be counted among the greats. Hale-Bopp, meanwhile passed perihelion far from Earth and well-above the planetary orbital plane. However, it had a very large nucleus and was extremely active for a comet. Hence Hale-Bopp became a Great comet as well. The funny thing about those two comets is that Hale-Bopp was discovered before Hyakutake was, but Hyakutake reached perihelion and became brilliant first.

Comet Nishimura was discorverd 8/11-22 bu Hideo Nishimura meaning "Exelent mail child" - "Go west", It has bearly been moving for thousands of year acording to the program "Stellarium". Suddenly, without no explanation it start to move in 2017. Thats why its strange that it was discoverd so late. But in 2023 its speed rapidly increases, as its now almost speed of light. Its falling away in a U-turn towards the sun for a closer encounter on sept. 13. Since it was discovered, it has more then trippel its brightnes. It shines like an 8 magnetude star. And the light is green. Green means: "GO"! And the sign is in the sun, just like its told us: "and there will be signs in the sun, moone and the stars." It will pas Leonis in "Leo" and swipe the tail towards Denebolas tail at 9/15 as it aproch Virgo. And its heading for the astroid "Child" inside the vom of Virgo. It will pass Virgo in three days - 20, 21 and 22 of sept. Then in the end of the year it finds it place in the universe - and will NEVER move again.......... Define "nearly", because anything below 90% is not "nearly" and considering it was discovered when it was only about 1 A.U. from earth, Mr. Mishimura wouldn't have been able to even focus on it and assuming he could, it would have gone past us within about 10 minutes, long before he could ever tell anyone about it. That was Hale-Bopp, not Halley. Halley's last perihelion passage was in early 1986, wheras Hale-Bopp was visible from 1996-1997. Also, Hyalutake preceeded Hale-Bopp in mid-1996.

Such a beautiful comet! Mishi Myra can also mean ; to go WEST, which is very interesting , b/c Nishimura passes through Leo ( The Lion of JUDAH ) ; and it then traverses right through Virgo mid-September = around The Feast of Trumpets! This is a very prophetic part of The Revelation 12 Sign ~ September 2023. There are around 20 celestial bodies that interact with The full Revelation 12 sign, or specifically Virgo. EVERY single one of them has a name relevant to The Rapture, The Tribulation, 666, United Nations, The Red Queen ( Babylon ), The Red Dragon (Lucifer, aka satan ), and MUCH more!

🤔🤔 If an amateur can discover this comet BEFORE all the automated tracking system did, DOES this mean stellar tracking like the Near Earth Object program might FAIL to detect an Earth extinction type asteroid before it is too late for us to react? Millions of world wide tax dollars are put into these stellar observation programs only to FAIL to detect a comet BEFORE an amateur with a telescope likely costing less than 10,000 US dollars. Something IS VERY WRONG with this picture😮😮😮

What's wrong with this picture is that the world spends thousands of times more money on military and wars than scientific research. We could probably be an interplanetary species by now, the problem is, do the people in power want that?

Yes..you are thinking right..in your right mind.i admire that, let me reward you.a "blazing mountain" will hit the ocean in the Atlantic ( some people know the exact location,and the time,but not the date,I know too) and it will come from a "blind spot" ,a part of the sky nobody's watching. So I'm kinda worried if this comet is "IT" or just a diversion.. we shall know by September. You have every reason to laugh and call me crazy but let me tell you something that you don't know... Do you know why the world went into LOCKDOWN because of "COVID"!? The lockdown is a trailer run. And Oh.. the government worldwide knows about the incoming "IT".
@xonor13
@xonor13 8 ай бұрын
Oh calm down. Everyone in the comments is crying about the automated systems not picking this up instantly. Looking for moving bodies like comets or asteroids is like finding a needle in a hay stack. The amateur astronomer just got super lucky to be looking in the right place at the right time to find something before automated systems. It's so far away it would have been spotted at some point when it's a tad brighter/closer. Either way, if there is a monster asteroid or comet heading straight for Earth, we won't be able to do much anyways.

'May become as bright as Polaris.' Pretty unimpressive then, in most people's estimation. For Nishimura San's sake, I hope that it becomes significantly brighter than that, and then ordinary people will really start to take notice of it. Thanks for the report.

Most people don't have a clue about astronomy, so it hardly counts what they think. A comet as bright as Polaris is really impressive and in the video it's stated it will probably be much brighter. Didn't you watch the whole thing before you wrote that comment?

Yes, there are a lot of "saddlies" involved with this comet. Second magnitude is obviously naked eye, but as you note, it will be near the sun and low in the sky. Unless it gets much brighter than 2nd mag, which could happen if the nucleus fragments like West did in 1976, I doubt very much it will ever be visible to the unaided eye. My wife and I did see it in her 8 inch f/6 Newtonian on 8/24 at 04:25 EDT, 25 min after astro twilite began, alt 15 degrees. It is the 158th comet I have observed.
