When u sign up for a project, u never really know if it's a classic or failure! Since it was made for TV it probably only took several weeks to make as opposed to months or even years for a feature film. Plus, when you're in your eighties turning down acting roles can lead to being labeled as difficult and hence being blacklisted. It was a quick and easy paycheck that did no damage to the original masterpiece. Few remember or even know about this movie, THANK GOD!

I gotta say, I don't mind the plot itself. It may not have been a necessary sequel, but I think the storyline actually makes some sense and is quite interesting to follow. Rosemary's fate is tragic, and the bus scene is kinda scary. The weakest point is obviously the directing, which doesn't come off as a surprise since it was made for TV and Polanski made such a masterpiece it couldn't be replicated.

@JoeEnglandShow
@JoeEnglandShow 3 жыл бұрын
So, in the end, what happened to Rosemary's baby? Not much. Rather than overthrowing the mighty and laying waste their temples, redeeming the despised, and wreaking vengeance in the name of the burned and the tortured with power that's stronger than stronger and might that would last longer than longer, he instead ran off, got into some trouble, and had a bad trip at a dance party. And that's pretty much it. His performance was so underwhelming, in fact, that the Satanic coven decided to give up and start over from scratch with a backup Antichrist. Given that the time investment of a project like this easily covers a good twenty year stretch, that speaks volumes to the degree of disappointment that Adrian achieved. In fact, they might just as well have let Rosemary go and raise him like a normal kid. Turns out all he was good for was donating some second-hand evil reproductive material to the second attempt. Although, since Satan's plans were apparently not nearly as dreadful or infallible as previously implied, it's not unlikely that the new child will do similarly poorly with his watered-down demonic DNA, especially since his handlers in the cult are clearly not as competent as originally portrayed, and getting pretty damn old to boot. And with the sheer nihilism of the Eighties about to hit, I doubt that Adrian's child will feel overly compelled to overthrow the mighty or lay waste to any temples, what with the looming threat of the Cold War already saturating civilization with a newfound sense of cynical irony. How scary is an Antichrist in the age of music videos and nuclear proliferation? And with the Nineties on the horizon, well, no one's going to take this stuff all that seriously by the time the Grunge movement rolls around. Frankly, if Satan and his cult didn't get their evil wunderkind off the ground in the Seventies, I think they pretty much missed their shot. Kind of sad, really. Hell of a waste of time.

@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc she had to nail a specific character job with Ginger: she had to still be Tina but adopt but adopt just enough Marilyn Monroe. It was very subtle and she had to get an exact "shade" of it to pull if off. to this day a lot of people don't realize she was doing Marilyn cause she did it the right way and we think Ginger and not Marilyn. She couldn't have done a full Marilyn because Marilyn was very vulnerable whenever we saw her in real life situations like baking a pie or discovering things on the shore.... it woulldn't have worked. She had to make something original that she could modulate with the story lines. She was , aside from Gilligan from the most underrated pro on that show.

@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc Yeah i knew about Stepford wives too but all that took a decade before she could her career back and she really didn't land a money gig until Dallas. Those series jobs started to pay in the seventies and I'm sure she made she made bankable money from the first season or two. Can't remember how long she lasted cause i didn't watch it much.

I’ve never actually seen this and don’t want to. That being said, Ira Levin’s Son Of Rosemary was actually a decent enough sequel. Did you know that Rosemary actually ended up naming her baby Andy??

This TV movie aired the same year that "The Omen" was released in theaters. "The Omen," with its demonic child, felt more like a sequel to "Rosemary's Baby" than this very boring story.

10:32 The blonde is Beverly Sanders ; she was "Rayette" the waitress on the Mary Tyler Moore Show . And "Suzy" on Rhoda. I love perky charcater actresses like her . P.S. this movie is DREARY and that back lot with the exterior shots - is terrible . I expect Laverne and Shirley to come out skipping. Was Ray Milland a grouch in real life ? Anyone hear stories about him ?

OMG: Patty Duke as Neely O'Hara playing Mia Farrow playing Rosemary Woodhouse...the Wikipedia page quotes Daniel Goodwin: "This little-seen sequel to bypasses Ira Levin’s lacklustre literary follow-up “Son of Rosemary” and catches up with the characters from Polanski’s classic in a gauche and bumbling chase movie/disco horror hybrid. Director Sam O’Steen, editor of Rosemary’s Baby, and writer Anthony Wilson (The Twilight Zone, Land of the Giants, Planet of the Apes) deliver a hotchpotch of awkwardly lumped together chase and dance sequences, festooned with ham acting, garish fashion, glitter balls and Satanic rituals. LWHTRB withers into a limp and hackneyed trinket throughout the first half but bounces back into a colourful calamity that lacks the artistry and finesse of Polanski’s original yet is far from a generic retread." WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT??? YEE HA!
