Homeless bans are cruelty. Kicking someone that is down, is cruelty. Destroying/confiscating someone's property is cruelty. These are 8th Amendment violations, medical and financial discrimination. As a person on Disability, govt mandated poverty, I cannot afford housing or a campground, and therefore have no choice but to park on the side of the road. The Safe Parking areas are so restrictive that I don't qualify, since I'm disabled and not going back to work. And they kick people out at 7am, not able to return til 7pm, with no place to go during the day. And forced to this regardless of the medical ability to drive safely at that moment. And they threaten to tow my RV, taking everything I own, because I have medical issues. Again, medical and financial discrimination, and 8th Amendment violations. I've been fighting this locally, after seeing that several cities and counties throughout the country ruled them unconstitutional, and now the supreme Court rules against my life. They think it's ok to criminalize us for being on govt mandated poverty.... I want to sue the SC over this! I've been threatening to sue my county, they've been sued before over these bans. Of course, we don't want people trashing an area, but that's what litter fines are for. They can't treat someone as guilty of a crime they are not committing. I, in an RV, raised to be respectful by my parents, make no mess outside my vehicle, I shouldn't be treated as guilty because other people are guilty. That's injustice. Being Disabled doesn't mean I should lose my Rights to Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness. Yet cops threaten to take everything I own, and random people threaten to vandalize my shelter. And somehow these people don't think that vandalism is a crime......... 🤷🏻‍♂️ The SC needs to be sued.

The REAL problem with Justice Thomas that NOBODY is talking about is this: The reason HE gives for his "mistakes" of not reporting all these gifts & so on is that he misunderstood the statue and the legal form he was filing out. How is that nobody else find this deeply disturbing? I mean, if the man can't understand a simple statue on ethics, or how to fill out a government form... WHAT is the basis for his ability & authority to decide the most difficult, complicated and important interpretations of laws in the nation?!? HIS OWN explanation for his misbehavior completely undermines his credibility without even examining the ethical issues...

All 6 of the Republican nominated judges must be replaced not because of their political persuasion, but because of the bias corrupted way they have used their immense power to throw the law behind a totally corrupted dishonest and extremely dangerous Republican nominee who will do irreparable damage to the American people. Back to the corrupt 6 SUPREME COURT JUDGES it is up to the President and lawmakers to not just find a way to dismiss these disgraceful corrupted 6judges but must come up with a long term solution to the problem of the process of the selection of SUPREME COURT JUDGES as it is blatantly clear the current method has failed. I don't know the solution but here is a clue Find a way to prevent totally corrupted Presidents from selecting judges who have a total lack of character dignity or shame. I believe the selection process must include an independent and highly detailed review of any nominated judge. The current situation of the President selecting the nominee and the review being left to the senate is simply unworkable. Re 2015 President Obama selects suitable nominee only to go to a hostile senate lead by the infamous Mitch McConnell who simply refused a nominee based on the wishes of a then Mr Trump. Then when trump wins the election he appoints not 1but 3 puppets sorry judges who will be insured a position as trump's party has control of the senate . It is obvious in today's world the old method relying on honesty decency and dignity simply does not work. Hopefully there is some food for thought here.

This is a good suggestion however the selection of an INDEPENDANT review committee itself has to be thorough and unbiased and is critical to the success of the process. To allow a current political party who is in power to be the review committee or indeed select the committee is no longer an option as partisan politics now dominate America's judicial and political institutions. It seems the more things change the worse things get. This may seem a little pessimistic but in today's climate it's becoming increasingly difficult to remain positive.

What I seriously miss here is a valid discussion on how the SCOTUS is corrupted, and by whom. And, what impact this may have had. In particular, on justice Thomas. Also, whether and how a criminal investigation into such payments and gifts to justices could happen. In Germany, where I live, a an official, public servant or judge can not accept or welcome any gifts by third parties, it is a crime.

I have always believed that court decisions should generally be the same given similar sets of facts as is the case with science. Unfortunately, law seems to be opinions and mostly logic. One gets the impression that anyone who is logical can become a judge without legal education

Ordinary people will not understand any of this. That is why we have the various agencies in place - so that experts in their fields can implement. No regulation = chaos.

I agree, it's almost as if they forgot about 2008-09 housing bubble crash, aka deregulation of the finance sector. Now no regulation for clean water, clean air. More shenanigans for finance (see cfpb and payday loans). More bribes for politicians to look they other way as toxic wastes go into nearby streams (see ohio). Or the egregious number of PE's taking over local water treatment plants, taking over of elder care, moving lower income people to medicare advantage (now known as deathcare).

Yeah it’s a Democrat my whole family is voting for Trump. The policies have gotten too crazy and if you’re blind to that that’s fine but it’s unacceptable. The border the economy the wars, the indoctrination and the legal system was the last straw Trump’s New York case is going to get a return then I just tells you how much they broke in the constitution going after presidents they could start a spiral they have started a spiral that can destroy the country Democrats have.

It is refreshing to hear a panel of experienced and skillful legal experts engage in civil debate in a respectful and coherent manner. It is certainly an uncommon occurrence in today's contentious political and social climate. I wish there had been more time to expand the discussion and answer more questions from an audience that I am sure have been made anxious and unsure about the future of this current extremist Supreme Court. I agree with George Conway that Justice Thomas needs to be investigated, at minimum by the Senate Judiciary Committee for his flagrant impropriety in accepting over $4M in gifts from wealthy donor(s). As a property manager, I once returned a $50.00 restaurant gift certificate to a representative of a local union who wanted to thank me for kicking out a non-union moving company from the commercial office building I helped to manage. I immediately returned the gift certificate with a letter explaining that I was simply doing my job, and I could not accept the gift. Justice Thomas acts like a double showcase winner on The Price is Right (and then some). I would love to hear his justification for accepting lavish gifts and what he was required to do in return.

This was over adding a government employee every time you go out and fish you had to pay $500 because they wanted to know the location if you want to know the location and track it put it on a GPS now the reason the agency passed this watch to put on a business fisherman because they have some crazy environmental nut that doesn’t want fishing. The only thing you’re going to do is if we don’t finish all the companies from other countries are going to come in and scoop it up. They don’t have the regulations so they were punishing Americans for no reason just to get them to stop and fish and that’s what they do over and over and over and over like the regulation that you gotta have electric cars that’s insane I can buy whatever car I want as long as I want if not everybody’s going to buy used cars and used engines and keep them cars forever you accomplish nothing because you can’t stop a car company from building a car engine.

Us should set up a judicial commission to appoint judges🤣the arguments I know that,ll be there will be that it,ll also be partisan which is true but the commission will most likely have pple from both sides,,,like it can have the CJ,a representative of the supreme court, the appeals courts, the normal federal courts,,the AG to represent gvt,two representatives of the bar and maybe a representative from each party which can publicly interview judges who apply and have a set and unchangeable qualifications like a certain number of yrs on the bench or in practice, consider them and appoint the best, this whole president appoints is very rare in most countries and naturally they,ll appoint the most liberal or conservative judge they can find

Chevron is great when they created the agencies no way Congress planned on the agencies having as much or more power than they do. They’re unchecked on elected and they’re adding to laws not making rules making laws that’s causing taxation and affecting peoples lives. The only difference is the agencies can add rules, but if they affect business or tax citizenry, they need to go back to Congress and explain to them why they wanna expand this law and negotiate them. What date is get rid of ideology so if you have all leftist are all people on the right working in the agencies it’s not what they want. They have to go to the courts were they have to negotiate or they have to go to the Congress where they want to change the law and negotiate with them and you’re gonna get a fair and balanced interpretation you can still do everything they want. They just have a check which they should have a check on them.

Seems like abolishing Chevron is more pervasive than eliminating Roe v Wade, in terms of creating confusion about what and who has authority to regulate whom and how. I suspect plaintiffs will have to litigate regulations and govt agencies will have to waste even more money on court costs to defend their regulations and citations for violations. What a mess.

Roe v Wade v "if it's not in the Constitution it's not a right" v The 9th Amendment? "The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights, shall NOT be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." It's pretty obvious that they don't have to be.

Posited is the administrative agency if they want to add a rule that’s a law it’s not a helmet you’re talking about taxation in this case $500 every time a boat goes out to fish because you have to hire a government agent and have to only fish 9 AM to 5 PM which is insane If you want to do something like that you go to Congress say we need this added to the law and if it makes sense Congress to do it and if it doesn’t make sense, you’re doing something that’s no good. Because you don’t need all the Republicans are all the Democrats you need the majority have to Republicans and half the Democrats to agree if it’s good because they can’t reject it like a normal bill by a minority party they have to take it up.
