It's not really possible to bring down an adult moose with only two wolves, unless you luck out and find a super injured one. A bull elk... can be achieved, but it's not really worth the effort. And you want full health, stamina, and sleep going in. As for the 8-mile female not helping with hunting, it could either be that she was cautious or lazy in personality. There are three personality sliders that determine a wolf's personality. This determines how they will behave in hunts and when raising pups. They are Cautious-Bold, Social-Loner, Energetic-Lazy. - Cautious wolves will attack prey animals when their health is low. They will be reluctant to do so when it is high. - Bold wolves are naturally the opposite, they have a more devil-may-care attitude. - Social wolves will stick closer to you. When the time comes for you to raise pups together, they will prefer to accompany you on hunts and patrols rather than staying at the den. - Loner wolves will prefer to keep a distance. When eating, you might see them taking chunks from the carcass and going to the side to eat it rather than eating from it directly. When you raise pups, these wolves will frequently go off on their own to hunt and mark territory, and they will prefer to stay behind at the den when you go out. - Energetic wolves will be more active. They will do any action more frequently: biting when hunting, when defending from predators, when feeding pups, and when retrieving pups that are wandering too far from the den. - Lazy ones will do the opposite. There really isn't a personality mix that's better than the others, it just depends on your preferences and play style. The exception is the lazy personality: you _never_ want a lazy mate. There are no upsides to this personality, only downsides. The Pahaska wolf definitely seems like she'd be a good mate.

I noticed your mate had her tail between her legs during the moose hunt and bull elk hunt when she was hesitating to attack. Even she wasn’t sure if hunting them was a good idea lol. She must’ve been more on the cautious side in terms of the game’s wolf personalities. From my experience, bolder wolves will attack just about anything lol. So that was pretty neat to see how cautious wolves react to dangerous hunts. You just gotta find a mate that fits your play style, but you also have to keep in mind that your personality and your mate’s will have an effect on the personality of your pups…so even if it seems nice to have a really bold mate…bold puppies can be a real handful.

I have a tip! When the mother is ahead of the fawn that’s a great opportunity to strike because the mother will usually make an arc around her fawn before she comes to protect it, giving you more time. Try it out!
