I have had the leather iwb holster Muddy River makes and sells. VERY comfortable and can hardly feel it in your waistband.

This is a fantastic holster! I steamed mine (was for a G26) and it fits my Glock 30s perfectly. I also use Fiebings leather sheen to give it that antique look and feel. Very comfortable for sure. The only thing I would change is the thickness around the trigger guard because I prefer that firm protection there.

i have a regular kydex IWB holster from you guys and i love it but would i gain any benefit moving to one of the frontier holsters for appendix? are there any differences?

The frontier is a dedicated appendix rig. If you are a guy that always carries a extra magazine with it then yes the frontier is very nice since its one piece. The regular IWB holster has more versatility where as the frontier is designed just for appendix carry

What is the difference in the thickness compared to one of your comparable Kydex holster?

Very close. Leather is just softer so will give more " cushion " against your body
