He actually is looking right into my eyes! That's the beauty of the "look" command. Sometimes he gets distracted by the treat in my hand for a second (it's almost like he's checking to make sure it's still there), but then he immediately goes back to looking into my eyes. Oliver generally likes making eye contact with us, since it allows him to use his magical powers of beagle hypnosis. "Human must give beagle a treat..."

I tried “eyes” with my beagle Buster, he does stare into my eyes but then gets frustrated, I want treat, woof. He was 3 when we rescued and I did some research on where he came from before he ended up in a shelter on Long Island. According to the paperwork he was a stray living in the mountains of a small poor town. He had heart worms and was a sick puppy, the ASPCA got him healthy and neutered him at 2. They named him Buster. When we got him and looked at him and his personality he was for sure a Buster. He does not like load noises like the garbage truck. He loves to dig and I had to pave the backyard but kept the trees along the property line, that is his favorite place to go. He seems to like night and especially 3 am. He does like to sleep in the daytime. Buster will be 9 on July 30 the day I am assuming he was found. He does not like riding in the car and gets carsick. I am sure it was tramatic to ride in a truck in a cage for 12 hours to NY. We live on the beach outside NYC so it is quite here. He has never been to NYC and I will never take him there, he would freak out. Thank you for your posts

He was sweet,loyal,gentle,obeyed with just spoken directions. He was beautiful and would sit in a chair with you all evening. A beautiful soul and no aggressive behavior ever. The best dog ever.

I can sympathize. We lost our little Necee, a black-chocolate female lab back in 2016. I can remember the warmth of her fur and smell of her forehead as if I just hugged her a minute ago. Miss her terribly.

@@judy2003 thanks Judy that is my message to the world 🌎 I hope everyone that has a animal friend will just spend a little more time with them and give them extra attention I did mine that way so thankfully I have no regrets I just wish I could have had more time with them especially little Arnold passing away before his birthday on Christmas day because my brother and his family had a big birthday 🎂 party scheduled for Arnold on Christmas day and it didn't happen so I'm so lost without him and Bigfoot I love them the same.
