Good demo, I am in the market for a looper but this one is way more advanced than I need. Your song is catchy too, reminds me of an 80s beach movie.

William Heitl Glad you like the video! And I agree, this one is complicated but still fun. Might be overkill for a lot of people, and sometimes I really just want to play with the simpler loopers, of course. By the way, it’s funny you say that about 80s beach. I learned guitar during the 80s and grew up surfing and watching a bunch of those kind of surfing movies. Maybe that’s why it sounds this way!😎🎸🤙

@@SteveGuitar yeah the rc 505 is way overkill for my needs. I have a pod go, but I don't care for the looper setting on it. I'm planning a "pedal board" with tuner, pod go, looper, vol pedal. I enjoy your videos and I like that I can watch them when my kids are in the room. Keep up the great content.

Something simply but kind of an upgrade is the 2 track Boss rc500 with top notch 32 bit processor.

ttownscott I agree, if you’re wanting your first looper, a simple one like the ditto is a great choice. I also like the Digitech jamman solo XT which is nearly as simple but let’s you save loops/songs. Anyway, glad you like it!

Try the digitech trio+, has drums and loop to create song and add a boss sy1 pedal and some reverb and delay and your good

Great demo Steve its a serious piece ok kit. May have to kick the wife out of the master bedroom and use it for my studio ,Just running out of space with all this guitar gear and i do like the look of that was thinking about it for a while. Cheers have a good weekend

On track 3, w the volume swells, are you recording multiple different takes over each other on track 3? or just re-recording over each one until you get it satisfactory?

Hey Steve- I wanted to ask what your set up is. Are you plugged directly into your rc-505? Or do you run the guitar through an amp and then into a mixer and then into the rc-505? I just purchased one and am curious how you recorded this. Sounds great by the way!

Thanks! Glad you like it. I am refining my set up and space and will probably do a full walk-through demo of how I connect everything together. But I run my guitars into my fender Mustang GTX amp, which I use my custom tones for whatever I need: delay, reverb, chorus, distortion, amp modeling, etc. Then I simply run the headphone jack 1/8 inch output, into the aux in on the 505. The mustang headphone output is full stereo and sounds really great going right into the 505. No mixer at all. Once, I did plug my acoustic guitar straight into the 505 and use the built-in reverb there, and it sounded great. I think I remember my Stratocaster just didn’t sound like much, because there was no amp modeling to really drive it hard. For my keyboard, I run my midi keyboard into my iPad and then also run the headphone output of that straight into the 505. Hope that helps!

Would you post here if you have loop sync? Free or auto or measure etc, I am pretty confused about it.

Hey there, yes… I use loop sync on all of my tracks. That ensures that they all start and end in the exact same places. But I use “free“ measure for tracks two through five after using “auto“ for track one. In other words, if my first track is four bars, then my second track can be anything I want it to be, like 4 or 8 or 20. Same with the other tracks. But loop sync makes sure that they all start over at the same point, regardless of their lengths. Does that help?

thierry pica ha ha ha Ha, I don’t know about looping master, but I’m getting the hang of it I guess. Only scratching the surface of all the features. You can get going in just minutes with some good basic looping, and just keep learning something new every day. I think the key is, you have to want to keep learning, whereas some people (including me at times) just want to click a single button on a one-pedal looper and quickly make songs and erase them. Fast and easy, which I can definitely appreciate.

@@SteveGuitar it was really inspiring. i just got one rc 505.. having difficulty at timings between phrases... i mean playing the guitar at the same time thinking when to hit the start^stop button... measures of the loops... i was an unplugged player till this day.. definately anyway so much fun... but i looks like need more time how to handle it correctly... i really want to understand why do you record empty tracks... i feel like crucial to get it.. Arent you recording drums onto every track because the rythym button is still on? Shouldnt the drum button be turned off after the one loop has recorded them, to prevent stacking duplicate drums on each track + overdubs?

Good question, but what’s great about this is the drums are totally independent of all the tracks. It’s like a sixth track that you can turn on and off, and it never records onto any of the other tracks. Let me know if that helps, and thanks for watching and subscribing!👍

@@SteveGuitar I'm totally into that. I may return mine an get that. I've only had it a day an can see where it needs improvements. I guess that's why made the 600:) I've got several orginals I can X loop with this. Amazing world we live it.

@@SchmittycocoPop I will say… I still think the 505 is awesome. Boss loopers are great, so you can’t go wrong, even if you keep that. So much fun to build songs and loops and control everything with your hands, and you can get foot pedals to do the rest.

@@SteveGuitar I picked up the Mk2 and its very different than mk1. The tones are much more real. I just cant figure this thing out like the mk1. You got any videos on using mk2?

Built in drums? Does it come with sounds/beats?

Yes, every percussion/drum element in this video came from the 505. It has a lot of other built-in beats, some of which are really good and some just sound sort of like basic midi drums. But I have also successfully imported Custom loops or recorded a cool drum beat from another source right into one of the tracks, which I could turn off and on.

How do you set it up to press the record button then start playing

I’m not sure I understand the question. When I hit any of the five play/record buttons, it immediately does either of those functions, unless in the track settings I set it up to have a count in first. You can also use a footpedal.

@@SteveGuitar I watching another video and this guy has it set up to where you press record but it doesn’t do anything until you start playing the guitar. He don’t explain how you set it up. And the book doesn’t tell you how to do it. I asked him but he doesn’t answer back.
