Pop Pop Pop Pop....Listen to this all day...7 days a week...dare you. Falmouth Rec center's 1 1/2 year old Pickleball destination at Lawrence School is where you can hear it for yourself. Yes, we have been fighting this noise for a year and half since opening day. See if your neighborhood is ready for the percussive pop pop pop that is pickleball noise. Unfortunately, a very vocal minority of pickleball players dominates the narrative, the meetings, and the rec committee. They say, "We are 300 strong!", in a community of 40,000? We see maybe 20% of that minority play all of the available time. They say without thought or hesitation, "Majority rules!", "You moved next to a school!" Shouldn't we all be saying "FIRST, DO NO HARM" to anyone in a home within 500 feet of pickleball play?... to anyone in a home within 40 feet?! Understand, this noise can be heard inside the homes of the closest abutters. All complaints have been dismissed by the town.
