With a title like "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," it's only natural that the "Doctor Strange" sequel would be a little off-the-wall.
Some parts of the 28th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are a little unclear because of the mind-bending, universe-jumping mechanics at work, while others are confounding mostly because the story's moving too fast to stop and fully explain what's going on.

So Wanda knows how to control America's powers, yeah? So then why not just do her mind trick on America to find one universe where: 1) Her boys are real 2) Vision is alive 3) That universe's Wanda just died 4) Also that universe conveniently has cure for all diseases, because apparently that's the one reason she why she "needed" to kill America to obtain her powers, just in case they get some multiversal sickness. If she can't find one, then truly the Multiverse isn't as "infinite" as they claimed, right?

Is nobody going to talk about how Dr.Strange is literally carrying the whole MCU on his back? The guy figured out the one and only way to win against Thanos, he sent back the villains in No Way Home to their proper verses, bargained with Dormamu, and he stopped reality warping Scarlet Witch. My guy has to be tired at this point .

The most likely explanation is: Because Sam Remi wanted to make a nod to all his zombie movies, and that looked cooler than a barely decomposed body :P So, for aesthetic reasons, basically. And yeah, I think it is even quickly mentioned in the Movie (By Prof. X?) that the Wanda in the Ruble is the 838 Wanda being controlled by the 616 Wanda

Plot twist: that moment in wandavision where Agatha said your powers is greater than that of the sorcerer supreme.... Dr. Strange wasn't the sorcerer supreme because of the snap, It was Wong 😆 . So arguably, maybe strange is stronger... my theory

Really? The Sorcerer who destroyed the first one was burnt alive by it and turned to stone. All the others where destroyed by the Scarlet Witch (who was imbued with the power of the dark hold itself) so it all makes sense. It's the spells in the books that are powerful and dangerous not the physical books themselves

no, the Scarlet Witch is a nexus being and only exists in 1 universe only. When she dreamwalks, she can transfer her power to the variant she possessed, but that variant isn't the Scarlet Witch at the beginning. That's why our Scarlet Witch is able to destroy all versions of the Darkhold in all universes because she is the one and only.

not a lot of unanswered questions. most of them were recaps of the movie. My main question was when Dr. Strange had the magic dampening hand cuffs on, how was he able to punch and climb against Mordo? He had no magic to help against the damage that he initially suffered from the car wreck, in his origin. Are we to assume that his permanent hand injuries were later healed over time with magic? If so, can he be a surgeon again?

His hands healed to the point of being good enough to do most normal tasks, but he never recovers to the degree of being able to do such delicate and precision-heavy things as surgery. But even if he did recover his hands to their pre-accident state, I think he still wouldn't at this point.

Real explanation: Scott Derrickson created Dr. Strange in the MCU in his brilliant origin film. He wanted to make a horror film but needed more time. Disney pressured him to create a different film - less horror oriented and more clearly connected to the rest of the MCU. Scott was quit/fired. Covid 19 happened. This created an over 1 year delay which *would have* given Scott plenty of time - who knew. Feige hired Raimi hoping he could combine horror and super hero genres, and also combine Dr. Strange 2 with his latest success, WandaVision. Seemed like a good fit. But Raimi didn’t watch WandaVision. The result was film that trashed her character. This was shown to preview audiences - they *hated* it. The film was reshot, and then cut. The resulting ‘shenanigans’ as Wanda would call her sit coms…ensued. [We have Ultron bots but no Tony Stark…come on, are we not supposed to notice when wheels fall off?]

IMO, the only thing I would find confusing about the movie is seeing it without watching both WandaVision, Loki, NWH, and What If, which are extremely recommended to watch as prerequisites and to completely understand because they are referenced heavily throughout the movie. Good thing I watched them prior to MoM or else I would have been lost.

Correction: everything in Red is when Wanda's power is on display. Wanda did not create the apple orchard from magic, she was telling the truth, she did plant them. She converted the field into hideous overgrown death using magic when it turned red. It was similar to the hex from Wanda Vision

Are you sure? It seems to imply that the lush version of the apple orchard was an illusion and the later decayed version was reality. They make very clear that the Darkhold withers away its surroundings when used. Strange even comments when he first shows up how realistic the illusion is, and then Wanda admits later that although she is powerful with magic, she's never been good at lying. Just my interpretation of it

they make it pretty obvious the orchard and everything is fake just like the whole town from wandavision, watch the scene again, she even says something like "the magic fake orchard was the easy part, its the lying she's not very good at" after strange was fooled by the magic but caught her in a lie

@@markbates2023 lol it wasn’t an illusion. when the orchard was blooming with apples, that was reality. That was real. It wasn’t a fake illusion painted over true reality. When Wanda turned the orchard into the red, dead trees, that became reality. She didn’t uncover the true reality underneath an illusion, she turned one true reality into another. That’s how her powers work. Strange had no clue he walked into an illusion because there was no “illusion,” just what Wanda decided reality should’ve been.

A key point in Wandavision was that everything inside the hex was real: “It may look fake but everything in there is real. It’s not an illusion. Wanda is rewriting reality.” - Monica Rambeu in Episode 4. “If everything in there is real that would mean she’s wielding an insane amount of power, far greater than she’s ever displayed in the past.” - Darcy Lewis responds. The whole point i s that it isn’t an illusion she’s not Mysterio. And her line in multiverse of madness was “the hex was the easy part, the lying not so much.” idk where you got that other line

I loved this movie. People are complaining about plot holes and inconsistencies. It’s a movie about wizards, witches and alternative universes. Of course there will be times when the audience needs to suspend disbelief. I just thought it was fun

Why didn't you guys try and explain the part where Dr. Strange and his cohorts stops every time a door closes on the Scarlet Witch as if they were not in a hurry to get to that special book that apparently has the power to stop her despite knowing that she could easily break thru those metal doors as if they were made of paper.

Actually they only stopped once. And it turns out it was for a good reason because Wanda bypassed the door anyway. Strange crashing down the roof of the tunnel was far more effective than those metal doors anyway. She was ripping the doors up like paper. LOL

@@enadegheeghaghe6369 still very immersion breaking though as if their very reason for urgency just suddenly disappeared they even really took their time waiting for the Scarlet Witch to come out instead of just going straight for the book they apparently needed even the part where they actually reached the book he didn't just grabbed it outright instead they waited for the villain to catch up and stop them. it was still an ok movie but it could have been great if not for those parts.

Eh they found the evil strange easily because there’s only one sanctum in every universe, so they just went to the same place they would go to in their universe.. I think it’s a given that, as a result of the collapsing universe, as Christine said “the you in this universe did nothing to stop it” so if you look around the sanctum in the incursion universe, there are bones surround the building so those people went to him seeking refugee and he let all of those people die.. I think it was great, I just wish their fight was better

Mmm I don’t think so. Wong said that the temple is where the darkhold was transcribed and there are multiple darkholds all around the multiverse so I suspect not.

no. there is a darkhold temple in every universe as well as a copy of the darkhold transcribed from it. Earth 616 isn’t special. At the end of the movie, Wanda destroys all of the temples as well as darkhold books across the multiverse.

@@summertyme5748 that's not how it ended. It ended with Strange supreme back in the crystal ball with Strange promising to watch Zola_Ultron and Kill monger who where in an even smaller crystal ball. The Watcher then says thank thank you Steven. No wonder you think the episodes are bad, you didn't pay attention

There's a LOT Wanda could have done that make no sense in this film. Capable of making her own town and controlling the minds of 100 towns people at once. Also wanda : "oh no wizard shields, whatever should i do? my power is clearly no match for them.. " Also Also wanda : "oh no the wizards have a door." Seriously, what was ANY of that nonsense? Wanda has the ability to just up and wipe them out or blow their brains with little effort.

You missed the purple wisps of smoke that are usually associated with Agatha when the Scarlet Witch was crushed. Implying that Agatha have something to do with maybe saving Wanda in someway.

You really do need to watch the movie a couple more times before you make a video like this, Dr Strange got the third eye at the end bc there is always a price for using the dark hold, sometimes the fingers turn black but dream walking causes the third eye, it’s the price for using the dark hold

When the movie started off, I thought I was watching Spy Kids. It didn't get better. And throwing musical notes from a sheet of music at your enemy was just plain stupid. Also, if as a child you get scared by a bee and that makes your parents be lost to another universe, and throughout your life you can't control it ... just believe in yourself, and then all will be fine.

If is was "Scarlet Witch and the Multiverse of Madness" it would have made sense. If it was "The Wandavision Season 1 Finale Special" it would have made sense. But NO they had to make Doctor Strange take a backseat in his supposed own movie and that makes no sense at all.

You really asked (confused) "how did they find the 'sinister' Dr Strange?" "must be Deus Ex Machina" NO. they went to the building, the one ALL the worlds have where the sorcerer supreme resides, the Sanctum Sanctorum. Not exactly rocket sugery. See, this is why i keep disliking these videos. you claim to "explain the confusing bits" or "explain the hidden meaning of something" and then come up with nonsense like "oh the hammer just suddenly appeared because of some mystical power never mentioned" Do you even watch these films!?

The quality of CGI (computer-generated imagery) really looks very cheap and very unprofessional in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Its plot is unfortunately, very shallow, full of flaws and very questionable, reducing it to a story that treats its vast viewer groups to mere brainless movie-goers that cannot think for themselves and cannot compare and link to past MCU movie cues provided in the past successful MCU movies. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is really disappointing to say the least about it being directed by the wrong person to spoil the many goodnesses achieved in the past successful MCU movies. This movie badly needs a re-boot to bring the story line back on track if it is to win back many heart-broken faithful MCU audiences' hearts world over and high expectations they always have regarding MCU movie quality.
