Avengers: Infinity War saw Thanos succeeding in his goal of acquiring all of the Infinity Stones and wiping out half of the life in the universe. However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe had been building up the tale of the Infinity Stones and the Mad Titan who wanted them for quite a while, and there might have been some details that you missed. Thanos may have started the movie with one stone already on his Infinity Gauntlet, but there is a story behind each and every one. As crazy as it sounds I JUST finished watching End Game. In fact I hadn’t seen a single marvel movie outside of Black Panther until a few months ago. I looked up the chronological order (timeline in the MCU not when the movies were made) and started with Captain America First Avenger and now it goes up to Thor Love and Thunder. After End Game it felt like the finale but I loved Shang-Chi, the Spider-Man movies and excited for Multiverse and Love and Thunder. I’m even watching Eternals rn because I’m committed! 😂

There is an easy answer as to why we would see Thanos with the Gauntlet that does not correlate with the timeline of the MCU. A lot of post-credit scenes show things that are to come. So technically that scene hadn't taken place yet. The Russo's should've ran with that.

So the power Stone was originally on Morag, the soul stone was originally on Vormir, the time stone was originally with the sorcerers, the space stone was originally on Asgard, the reality was lost in the earth’s ground, but where did the mind stone originally come from? Marvel actually wrote a comic book miniseries prior to the Infinity war series called Thanos Quest where it shows how he got the stones. They had all come into possession of the Elders of the Universe, a few we saw in MCU as the collector, grandmaster, and Ego. The Elders themselves once tried to use the stones in unison to destroy Galactus, who should definitely be the next MCU main antagonist.

I really needed this explanation so thanks. A few things though, at 13:06, the gauntlet is definitely fake because it is a right handed glove and Thanos wears his gauntlet on his left hand. Also, can you please make a video on "what happens to the stones after endgame", it creates a really confusing time paradox

If you buy Infinity War on Amazon you can read general trivia stuff and it explained that Thanos had the gauntlet made after The Dark World when Asgard was in shambles after Loki banishing Odin. Since Loki was now the ruler of Asgard, Nidavellir probably wasn't as well protected

I think I can live with the fact that maybe Thanos had Eitri make the gauntlet long ago and he was left there for so many years before Thor shows up to ask him to make the new weapon for him. End credits are not always connect to their movies, they make take moments, days, months, years from the when the movie ends. That end credit scene is just a fast forward to after Thanos gets the infinity gauntlet from the dwarfs. Boom besides the cgi difference it fits.

He had the gauntlet long before infinity war but that's when we found out how he got it. Plus Asgard had already been weakened by previous conflicts (Thor the dark world), and then when Loki usurped the throne there was no hope for their beneficiaries like the dwarves of nidavellir, meaning Thanos would be able to attack them while Loki basically kept all of Asgard distracted while he kept Heimdall on the run. Thanos would be able to begin to enact his plans immediately after Loki sent Odin to Earth at the end of the dark world, which would have been more than enough time for him to have attacked eitri and made him make the gauntlet. That was in 2013, which is why in 2014 he was trying to get Ronan to get the power stone for him. Hell his plan goes all the way back to 2012 when he hired Loki to get the space stone for him. He would've had two stones, and a third two years later, making his efforts to get the reality stone that much easier, and then he'd torture nebula just the way he did to find the soul stone, and I'm sure he would have had no problems getting the time stone from the ancient one
