This video is for Stone. One of my subscribers. She got me into this style of painting and I have not looked back. That is what is amazing about this process of interaction with you all. I love the comments and the feedback and ideas etc! I am always open to exploring new ways of painting in a loose way with watercolour and of course in landscape. I love abstraction and this process lends itself to abstract creativity. This loose watercolour landscape was un-intentionally painted upside down! I really love it! The colours and the soft edges paired against sharp edges like the trunks of the trees and the branches. So amazing I could not have painted that even if I tried!
This was painted on a full sheet 56cm x 76cm of Rives BFK etching paper 280gsm by Arches
The colours used were:
Yellow Ochre
Raw Sienna
Winsor Yellow
Cobalt Blue
French Ultramarine
Cerulean Blue
Paynes Grey
The equipment used was:
4 inch hake brush to wet the surface
spray bottle
Butter soft lid
MDF board
3M magic tape to attach to the top of the board
many tissues
and a few other brushes a the end like a 1 and 2 inch hake brush and my round sable and a flat nylon and I also used a palette knife to take a few blobs of paint away.

Arches 300gsm medium cold pressed block which is glued on the outside so you don’t have to stick it down on a board amazon: geni.us/ArchesWatercolourPaper
Rives BFK etching paper. Probably best to source this from your local store so you can look after the paper and not have it posted unless you are buying a large amount of paper and it will be looked after. There is nothing worse than getting hundreds of sheets all with a indent in them. Having said that you can actually source this paper from amazon:

Some people have been extremely happy with the state of the paper when it arrived (and some not!)
I love this paper it is soft and lights are lifted easily from it.

At one point it looked like trees reflexed in water, but then you turned it up the other way. This is nice but the other was spectacular. but art truly is in the eye of the beholder.

I found if you lightly sand the edge of the card with an emery board you want get those scrapes from the plastic. Love the trees in this one!

Wow Scott! At 6m24s I suddenly saw a canopy of green trees with reflections beneath and then it changed within seconds! So exciting to watch and I like the colour palette. Nice one ! Jill 🇬🇧

Good luck! The secret for the trees is to spray with the spray bottle on jet to create all the splashes that then turn into branches when the pigment runs down that way.
